your best bet is to use the Thule 982 Frame adapter. Attaches to the seat post and stem, creating an easy & level bar to place on the bike rack cradles. Really nice for funky downhill frames and stuff.
My 2009 Cannondale small frmae Rize 4with Thule's top tube adaptor makes my bike sitt too low to the ground. The front tires are sitting too low and hitting speed bumps on down slope yanking the entire front assembly. Not good and quite expensive since I have 2009 XTR wheel sets. Any way to raise the rack's arms at a steeper angle to prevent tires fron hitting the speed bumps? This happens even at 2 mph.
It does have the Fit Dial, which is designed to be set for your specific car. But you could try setting it at a position that raises the arms further up to help elevate the bike.
