This cosmic dance of bursting decadence and withheld permissions twists all our arms collectively, but if sweetness can win—and it can—then I'll still be here tomorrow to high-five you yesterday, my friend. Peace -Royal Tart Toter
This song has never lost its relevancy. Even now, an anti-war revolution is stirring in the minds of the youth. "It's the same old thing since 1916. In your head, in your head, they are fighting. In your head, in your head. Zombie! Zombie!"
@HalfAsianGuy well sadly we need war... or else something worse than war or genocide..starvation disease these will balance it out nature will kill us one way or another we have war we are our own predators and if we stop fighting we starve to death like the animal kingdom without predators the very same animal will starve slowly overpopulation why do you think haiti was hit with a massive earthquake to balance it out animals follow these rules and we are no exception we must kill or suffer
As far as I am concerned, it is those "Islands"(the British) that forced so many to be silenced by their guns and bombs. By the way, long live Ireland, and long live Ghaddafi and Libya. Thank you Ghaddafi for playing a huge role in the freeing of Ireland. We know the dirty British want your oil and payback for supplying Ireland with weapons when they were fighting for their freedom
Absinthe rocks. Oh, and war sucks. It causes far too much pain and loss. Oooh, my soup is ready, geuss i'll bid yall adeau, ok then, bye. One quick thought, the colors are warm with a variety of hues I'd never seen, moving scros thr room., yeah
Yes. Some implications in here is directed towards the supposely violence(EVIL) and destruction that the Federal Govt or State causes. Would you like to back up your comment? :)
2. This is a son from their debut album, meaning, they most likely never even been to the US, which makes it improbable that they have any beef with the federal or state government.
3. The line "its the same old thing since 1916" is a reference to the Irish War of Independence, so the song is most likely referring to the British government, if they are not referring to any kind of prejudice that Irish people have against the British still.
This has nothing to do with the question but Im just curious. Why are you defending this song? I say this song is beautiful with a meaning to it, but you have to a lot of world history references and imply it to this song to know what I'm trying to get at.
@KillerXify What? What you said make no sense what so ever. You say you think this song is beautiful with a meaning to it after you already said it should be erased from earth? And please rephrase the second half of that sentence, because honestly, I do not understand the ordering of your words.
Yes I do think this song should be gone Forever, but at the same time I find it soothing. I aint no hypocrit but this song has its pros and cons. I am curious, but what country are you from?
@KillerXify What does my country have to do with anything? If it's because I asked you to reorder you last sentence, it would be hare for anyone to understand a run on sentence like that. there is a reason for punctuation. And i find it extremely strange that you would say something you find soothing needs to be gone forever. I don't know why, but i feel like that fits under the category of masochism. So why would you want something so special gone forever,it would make the world a touch bland.
@eldadevata O.o What is it with you changing your mind with every comment? And all songs are like that. A majority of people like music and don't really listen to it, it's nothing new. In fact, musicians have realizes not many people actually understand the lyrics of their songs, so they have written songs about it. So what does fighting for a conflict that doesn't exist anymore, and people listening to a song and not knowing it's meaning have to do with insulting the government of a country?
@GiannaAMauceri Unfortunately it seems that there are still enough people who are brain dead enough to sustain an artificial conflict based on religious delusions and ethnic and racial phobia.
The fact that the same people that do sustain these conflicts enjoy a song that actually humiliates them, is ironic indeed.
The fact that you don’t seem to understand the irony of the situation is even more amusing.
@eldadevata I understand the irony that people who listen to this song and like may be the very people it is written about, but, this conversation initially didn't start out on this topic, which is why I said why does it have to do with this song being offensive to the government, which was my first question, that hasn't been answered still. So maybe since you decided to input you can answer the question I am now forced to ask.
@GiannaAMauceri And the question that I am now forced to ask, I have already asked. Why on earth should this song be singled out to be erased from earth because, ironically people who it was intended to point out listen to and love to listen to, when EVERY SINGLE song on the planet that has lyrics has those kind of brain deads listening to it? With that kind of reasoning, why don't we just erase all music forever? Well we don't erase it all, because it wouldn't make sense to do so.
i have read many comments on this an think you are ALL missing the point.Music is always open to your interpretation yes there may be something the artist was directly meaning to convey about a specific event but they also want you to get something out of it connect it to your own life somehow so where this song is about ireland and the civil conflict there its also about a boy be senslessly bullied at school or the war in the middle east what ever you connect with OKAY!!
This shows how the world is just filled people who must fight for ever and will never see the good this song using the example of the north and south ireland
Imagine Governments leaving others alone, and letting others have their own ways. of course then their would be genocide and warlords killing innocnet village people then thats when I come in people better than most willing to kill to help others

@KillerXify 1.The Cranberries are from Ireland.
GiannaAMauceri 8 months ago 2
@GiannaAMauceri And when I say have never been, I mean they hadn't at the time they wrote the song.
GiannaAMauceri 8 months ago
Im not refering to the USA. Im refering to any country, federally owned or by the state.

@GiannaAMauceri Yes it actually refers to both the Irish British conflict as well as the conflict between the two religions in Ireland.
And I do agree with the song, only a zombie can and will kill for a fucking religion or a conflict that doesn’t exist anymore.
I just wonder how many zombies must have liked this song without realising that it was about them.
