I'm starting to think lots of women are using the "shopaholic" label to excuse their behavior. Yes, lots of women are unfortunately REAL shopaholics, but.... more often times than now, the women seem like spoiled richgirls who was never taught conciquence as a child.
I feel bad for the husband. He's supporting her spoiled rotten ass. He's providing a half million dollar home, a Mercedes to drive and a decent amount of designer clothes. What gives? I get that its an addiction but the husband is enabling her. Why hasn't he cut up her credit cards? why hasn't he drawn the line in the sand? if he is the one paving the road and making her life possible. She needs to respect financial boundaries and she doesn't give a shit. Nice Tyra! they are divorcing. good job
although she did wrong, i dont think hes a very good husband for simply leaving her like that. when people vow for marriage, they make a commitment to face the good and bad times of life together. if he really loved her, then the issue of money wouldnt make him want to divorce her. so does that mean he loves money more than her?
i cant believe he would end it just like that. a couple is supposed to support each other no matter what.
But when the commitment is driving you to financial bankruptcy. Compromises need to be made, or he needs to leave! He's bringing home the bacon and working 70 hours a week while she spends her afternoons in the mall. When is it okay for him to be selfish and say "I need to think about keeping my ship afloat. If I can't help my wife; atleast I can help myself" ???
I don't think he "loves" his money more than his family. I see a frustrated person bringing home fat checks and seeing the money disappear in an afternoon at Macy's would get pretty old. Fast. He said he wants her to get help. He said he wants to work things out. He seems like a committed guy.
This show has a wierd aura about it. Shopping can be an addiction but this shopaholic couple gives me the impression that these are actors (bad ones). They don't look believable. The clip of the husband who cuaght his wife shopping looked totally fake. Anyone else feel like this is a fake scenario? Did they run out of interesting authentic people to interview???
Her husband is really a disgusting jerk, who says "I want a divorce" without even thinking "I love her, we can get through this, I know she'll make it..." But he's just like "She's just shopping up my money, she just means trouble, she's not gonna be able to change". And he doesn't even realize that she is sick. That she is an addict. This pisses me off so BADLY!
she's wasting his money though. it doesn't matter if she's an addict...if it's his money he's wasting he has every right to leave her. it's unfair to him and to their baby.
@itsthegreenplatypus : they are married, his money is hers and her debt is his... its not fair but shared. and vice versa--- addiction are a sickness and through that bond of marriage he should want to help her through that not run off and make things worse especially if he truly loves her.
i dont think you can judge him, because in the end, he doesnt really understand, and she's been lying to him for ages, and told him, on national TV on the tyra banks show,
Tyra is so self absorbed, it's hilarious! Listen at around 2:36-2:38. She asks if the woman is surprised her husband wants the divorce and before she even answers she just says, "I'm surprised!"
I really think it's sad that so many people give up on marriage so quickly . . . at the first sign of trouble, they seek divorce. I feel that love is about going through hardships together and getting stronger from that, not giving up in hard times.
lmao.... u can totally see the husband doesnt really buy tht "addicted to shopping" thing .... and i wish thr was a better emphasis on finance rather than it just bein such a sob story
I thought it was some kind of parody of some addiction/intervention type program. What would they do if they didn't have money to shop, steal? And why don't they return the items they never wear?
Sorry I have to comment again, this whole 'drug addicted' shopping thing feels like such massive scam to to me. As if these chicks husbands don't like buying some things for them selves, they just DON'T DO IT. The whole thing sounds like a joke. Seriously, this has got to be actors or something.
If this is real, and not acting, then they need Realing lessons

Is it really that hard to stop. I mean, who's putting a gun to you head telling you to drive to a store and swipe a card. This is just a choice.
