@DJLover312 Funny as my experience is so similar to Muriel's. I was 'ugly', shy and had no self-esteem at school and there were the pretty peeps like her 'friends' who'd try and put me down (and succeed).

5-6 years later, half of them have kids and are not so pretty and one who made fun of me actually approached me last yr and said 'you've really bloomed, I was shocked when I saw you' I said 'thanks and to think that some people used to pick on me.' They suddenly went quiet...

I love it how she looks so un-confident and loney and very off looking at the start...if you get what i mean, and then she meets her new friends and meets new people, and is glowing on the wedding day. And then right at the very end when their in the car together leaving the place their in. Their is like a moment where you just watch muriel and she looks beautiful.. just showing how she finally made something of herself...love this movie

I understand this movie way too well meaning I left London for America for my career.

I had faith in myself when no one else did and I am retired now and never regret it for a minute.

Sometimes in life you have to take a chance to live your life.

I never have regreted leaving London but I do miss that grand dame,

This movie came out way before I was born. I was born in 1991. Now i'm 18 , I actally really liked this movie ^_^ !!! I was fliping through channels one time and every chanel I filpped to I would see the title " Muriel's Wedding " staring me in the face. I read the info since I have comcast and I was like " what the heck, I'll watch this movie and see what it's like " and the movie turned out great ^_^ !!! I like Muriel's Wedding ^_^ !!!

I recently found out there is a new DVD of this now available...a special addition that has commentary with Toni Collette and some cast interviews as well. From what I heard, the movie version is the same, but the extras sound like something true fans of this movie would want. GREAT MOVIE!
