@4242SLAYER Metallica was one of the pioneers of speed metal in my view. I don't ever see them as a thrash band. To me, they were speed metal and now are more rock-n-roll than anything. When it comes to genres, it is a lot of opinions now. To me, there is speed metal, thrash metal, and death metal...I realize that there is power metal and other things but I think there are way too many genres and people are constantly fighting over which band belongs where. Metallica is not thrash...sorry

And check out a band called 'Mutant' if you didn't have faith in this generation; one of the best new thrash bands around imo =]

This is quite possibly the best thrash album ever made. I didn't think they could make the tracks on "Demolition" any better but they succeeded. I only wish they could've rerecorded the track "Tetrastructural Minds" for this album but I've heard it'll be on their next album so ill wait n see
