Trade is good. Outsourcing is bad. NAFTA is about outsourcing, NOT trade. Trade presumes we make something, and sell it to someone, they make something, they sell it to us. What do we make but debt? We have lost 20% of our manufacturing under Bush. What does that tell you?
Isolationism means to not trade-not get the resources we need nor the dependency on our goods that we need in other countries to stay dominant in the most peaceful way possible. However, the question is unfair if you leave out the other foreign policy of Neutrality. Or at least I would rather neutrality where our wars are in self defense or for supporting a reasonable international effort.
Hi, I'm from Wisconsin, too. To contribute to his campaign, just go to (his homepage-I can't list but it's easily locatable). On the left margin is a place to contribute directly to his campaign. What part of Wisconsin are you from?
I'd take nation building over Isolationism every day of the week, would you like american historic examples of what heppens to the people when isolationism occurs, or would you prefer to reasearch the depressions of the 19th century yourself?
I've seen what these "free" trade agreements have done to place like my home town Steubenville, the good paying jobs in the steel industry have shrunk to almost non existant. Dennis Kucinich is the only candidate to speak up for the working people in this country. Labor should support him instead of one of moderate Democrats who will sell us out again ang again.
I hear ya bro! I'm originally from Flint, MI. It used to be a great working class town in the auto industry and a great place to live. Now, thanks to free trade, it has one of the highest unemployment rates in the country and is one of the worst places to live. Kucinich could be the guy to bring towns like these back. Too bad there are too many people out there that aren't smart enough to vote for him.
Thank-you. We need a bold leader to represent the American people. Now would you please address the terrible abuses happening with foreign worker visas like H-1B and L-1 that has undremined so many American professional careers!
Don't anybody ever say Dennis is unelectable. He represents the mass of the American electorate, and with a clean election, he'll be in the White House.
I think he's the best candidate out there and he will get my vote but I do think he's unelectable just for the fact that the bulk of the American public are a bunch of brainwashed zombies who let the media tell them who they should vote for. Like those who believe all the corporate paid economists that tell them ending free trade will hurt the economy or those who worry about what other governments will think.
i will not go so far as to say unelectable but i agree with you jo. i hope his campaign really picks up more momentum and more people open their eyes and see what a great leader he will make. Kucinich '08!
Kucinich is the only person who would represent ALL Americans, not just the top 10% or even the top 30%. The man is the best politician we have, and the only reason he would be unelectable is because we live in a nation where mediocrity is the standard.
Not bad. But you fail to address, as OnlineMaven cites above, international relations. Moreover, if you could find studies or any proof that this will be good for the economy, that would help--you know that's what the GOPs are going to come after you with, if you don't
Japan imports an automoblie to the US, they pay a 2% tarriff. The US imports one to Japan, we pay a 20% tarriff.
Does that sound fair? Free is more like it. Now just apply pretty much the same ratio to the countries involved in NAFTA and it should be self explanatory on what it would do for the economy.
It would only harm relations with governemtns that are also in the pocket of the multinationals, the same way our current government is. Governments that truly represent their people would be happy to negotiate bilateral trade agreements based on fairness.
ROFLMAO! Yeah that happened.

Dennis Kucinich, yes. Ron Paul + Dennis Kucinich = Impossible marriage.

Free trade is not fair trade and Kucinich is really the only candidate in either party that understands that.

Kucinich is miles ahead of paul.
Ron doesn't offer the type of reform america needs to get us out of this hole.

I think your views on trade are a tad simplistic
Grimli 4 years ago
It actually is very simple. It is called isolationism versus nation building. Which one do you want?

Its not a question of 2 extremes. We need Fair Trade. Not Free Trade.

I just contributed $50 to Kucinich's campaign. Why don't you?

Bold. Though I wonder what that will do to our international relations.
