@mrbrandon71 Well thats subjective, i am very competent at fruity and have been supporting them since initial release of their first version....would i use it....no. It doesn't do everything i need from my DAWs neither does it do things in a way i like. I dont hate it but its not the best audio software in the world. However for the price its hard to beat and if you cant make it on fruity then its you not your equipment.

that is the synth. it's about as simple a synth as you can get, but the noise is being made by that on the screen.

yes, that is exactly what it is. This is some of the most complicated and technical music being produced today--good electronic music, that is.

I use Digital performer and it is head and shoulders above reason and FL. The only DAW mentioned in this thread that even compares is Ableton Live. Secondly for those who claim its hard to use a VST...sheesh

Add-->instrument ---> (insert vst here) then you give it an output.

Its that easy. Furthermore this isn't technically a VST (steinberg) , it is MAS (MOTU), but hey, its all the same stuff to the user.

Bassline is included with Digital Performer. DP runs on Mac OS.

Any DAW is easy to learn once you have used it for long enough. ;\. FL is shit though dont use it, actually do use it so i can laugh.

I guess they are all powerful enough if you have the time. The issue is not power, but ease of use. FL is too cluttered. I have used ableton, FL and Reason, and in my opinion they are all powerful DAWs but reason takes the cake because of its intuitive format. The rack style with reason is much easier to use than the FL style if you have dual monitor setup. You can compact all your Effects into each combinator to get them out of your way when you need them.

FL you can close or minimize your windows to solve this problem, but you can never tell which instrument the effect is associated with unless you read the title bar. The wiring is the only thing I really dislike about reason, there should be a third window with a schematic view instead of a physical layout.

rewire reason with FL 8, simply to use vsti and edison. otherwise FL's interface is shit, the mixer doesn't correspond verywell to the channels. Reason is an interactive dupilcate studio. It works well. FL studio has shit synth capabilities and a poor proffesional feel. You can always tell when someones made a song on FL sound polyphonic... all the time.

Thats definately true i can always tell when something is made on FL. Hopefully reason will integrate VST support into reason, if they did it would be an amazing program IMO. That plus a more accurate dB readout for EQing etc.
