Buzz the Fishing Vizsla

My Vizsla did the same thing. He would stare in the water for hours with out moving. When he passed I had to get another Vizsla to keep me company when I went fishing, unfortunately my New dog doesn't seem to care about the fish. he would just start wondering off into the woods so I don't take him anymore.

I agree about the Vizsla's unconditional love. I learned more from my Vizsla Niko than what he learned from me. And we miss him.Watching these videos bring back wonderful memories of the 13 years we shared with our dog.

I have 2 V's and one of them does the sun up to sun down fishing as well. He even points fish! Sorry for your loss, I lost my first to lung cancer (no he didn't smoke :) and said I would never own another dog it hurt so bad..the next day I had a puppy in my arms. I've heard it said best that "the hurt from losing someone or something is a blessing as not everyone gets to feel the love that you felt to make it hurt so much".

Our Vizsla is obsessed with water! He stares at the shadow patterns in it and is really happy for hours with it. We think it's precious.

Oh that would be a great place to spread his ashes! Have you thought about keeping some for yourself and put them in a nice urn or sealed box and then spreading the other half on the water? Di you have any other vizslas or plan to have another? I will think about you and Buzz this Memorial Day!

He's beautiful! I am sorry for your loss. I've had to go through that grief with 3 Viszlas over the years and it's never easy. I've always said that no one truly knows what love is or feels like until they've owned a Vizsla. I'm so glad you got to experience that love. :)

@lrb081 thanks so much. We miss the Buzzster. I think we'll miss him even more when we head up to Hayward and the lake. Boats used to drive by to see "The fishing dog." You'd hear them from the pontoons, "There he is! Look!" Poor guy. I'm debating whether I can part with his ashes. If I can, they'll be going into his beloved 'fishing hole' over Memorial Day.

@jskloven Him too. Loved the pool. Sadly, we had to put him down a month ago due to bone cancer. I'm so glad I got these videos of him fishing. Very sad. Enjoy your fishing Vizsla!

He IS a cool Vizsla. And sadly, he is now a Vizsla with bone cancer with not much longer left. We are very sad, but I am certainly glad we have this awesome video of him from his last summer of fishing. I'm feeling very boo-hoo today. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Thanks! He is a trip, that's for sure. Poor guy blew out his ACL this summer and is now on three legs. Plus the leg he broke when he was two that has a plate and screws in seems to be infected. I'm glad I got this video when I did. It is bittersweet. Thanks for watching!
