Aww Mason is so cute.. I'm so happy for you!! I also adopted my dog (a cocker spaniel named CoCo.. hence my screenname, haha) from an animal shelter when he was only 8 weeks old. I too loved dogs and wanted one ever since I was young. My mom was hesitant b/c of responsibility issues. I wished for one every birthday and one day after school in 6th grade, I came home and found my new dog <3. I hope Mason will be your best friend like CoCo is to me =]. I definitely want to see more videos of him!

So many dogs have diseases or issues and that's why they stay in the pound. Some have diseases that can be caught by humans, and some are deadly. I always buy my dogs because, I want a healthy puppy who will live for a long time. The dogs that ended up in the pound are from stupid owners so make regulations for owning dogs. I would NEVER get a dog from a shelter. A lot of them also have temperment issues.

I have always been afraid of aggressive dogs, but the only reason they are aggressive or have temperment issues is because they have been mistreated. It is not their faults. Shelter dogs deserve a second chance at life. None of them have diseases that could affect humans. That is a silly myth. Puppies from breeders generally actually have shorter life spans then adopted dogs. Adopted dogs are muttigrees and mixed, so they are healthier.

@MeganandLiz24 i really doubt people can catch diseases from a dog. Viral and bacterial diseases need to mutate to be dangerous to humans and otherwise they have pretty much no effect. If you have ever been vaccinated, they literally injected the animal version of the virus into your body so that your cells could fight the human version. adopting a dog from the shelter is not bad, those animals deserve a home. Animals aren't toys -_- new ones aren't better than second-hand

@MeganandLiz24 You are ill-informed. Dogs in the pound make just as great if not better pets then the ones you buy, there are many advantages and disadvantages to both situations. You've obviously never had the true love of an animal who you SAVED.

I totally agree that its most appropriate to adopt a dog than to buy one.:) It gives them a new home to live in and nice owners to love them! A whole new life! :D I bet Mason would be one of the happiest dog in this world! ^_^ I adopted a syrian hamster a few months ago and I love him a lot!<3 And I'm hoping to adopt a dog from an animal shelter in the near future too.:) All the best in looking after Mason! :D

Shelter dogs are always so happy to have a home. We just put our rescued German Sheppard to sleep after 11 wonderful years of love and companionship. We will always miss him and love him at the same time. J R

A puppy mill is a place that exclusivley takes a dog and breeds it her whole life. Her whole life is to make puppies to see and usually the conditions are awful. Basement breeding is when your average person takes 2 dogs, makes puppies and sells them like in a walmart parking lot to make money.

Adopting from the shelter is a way to go because those are the unwanted pets. The more people support the less business puppymills will get

Aww he's awesome and so cute :) I have a st.bernard pup and he's much bigger haha but I love small dogs aswell i had a jack russell but she sadly passed away and her colouring was much like masons he's so cute good luck witht he potty training :) x
