This debate is a good demonstration of what happens when you argue for the legalization of one drug over 200 other illegal drugs. The focus is almost exclusively (from the prohibitionist side..) on the harmful effects of that particular drug.

This debate is a good demonstration of what happens when you argue for the legalization of one drug over 200 other illegal drugs. The focus is almost exclusively (from the prohibitionist side..) on the harmful effects of that particular drug.
It doesn't matter how harmful a drug is (on the black market) because usage rates are unaffected by even harsh, insanely inhumane laws against possession. More importantly, drugs become far more dangerous in a regulated market at such an inflated price.
