Smallville Salvation Season 9 Finale review part 1

Watched from Pilot to Finale this week. Season9 is my fave. Many say after seasons 3-5 show got worse. I DISAGREE!!! 1-4 Clark was "growing up" becoming mature and heroic each development. Seasons 5-7, some exceptions Clark got stagnant and regressed a little. Season8, as bad as it was got him behaving/thinking like an adult, his journey put back on track. 9 got Clark feeling pride and comfort in being a hero. 5 used to be my fave but now it's a close runner up to 9 (more action/adventure).

Hey! Ok, I just have a question about this season. When does Clark know that Zod is on Earth? Because I'm looking for detailed summaries, but it basically says that one day he just starts looking for Kandorians. But when does he know they're on earth? And how?

I agree. This is the best season finale ever. I've been a massive fan of the show since the beginning and ive seen all of the seasons and this is the best season finale ever. Ove of my favourite bits is the last scene with Clark stabbing himself with the blue kryptonite on the roof an then he falls. I think he survives by flying for the first time. Well actually for the second time. He flew in the first episode of season 4

I agree with you. I thought the Clois scene in the barn was a throw back to Clana. Even the way he was tripping over himself with the excuses screamed young Clark.

I believe the woman to be Martha Kent aka Red Queen because they had her on the wrap up before the show started from the previous episode Hostage. I think at the beginning of season 10 Hawk Man or Martian Manhunter will swoop in and save Clark. Idk what happened to Oliver he said before whatever came after him that they're not Kandorians so whatever it is that attack Ollie who knows.

@CK61938 Uh...only A LOT! And we all know in the opening sequence of the next season premier Hawkman will swoop in and save Clark before he goes SPLAT! Or something like that. The things that attacked Ollie were obviously parademons. What do you suppose Granny would want with a nobody like Tess? SHe and Oliver really aren't the sort I expect Darkseid's lieutenants to go after.

Amen! I have also been watching from day one. The show blows Superman Returns to smithereens just like the planet Krypton was. It is amazing that Smallville is a weekly TV show that has effects and a storyline that can match or even be better than a big budget movie. Warner Bros. is going to reboot the Superman movie franchise. I say they should make Tom Welling be Superman. The fans would gladly forget the Superman Returns disappointment if that happens. @kali902000 Nope...if you think about it, in the season 8 finale the little boy would be about 13years old...so add the 5yrs from there to 2013...he's 18yrs old :)

Anyways CK61938...good observation about the lady knitting being Granny Goodness. Can't wait for season 10...hopefully Darkseid can take over General Lane's body so we can have Michael Ironside as Apokolips' top guy.

Or in other words...Michael Ironside playing Darkseid like he awesomely did in the animated series. Lois' Dad "possessed" by Darkseid would keep up with Smallville canon and would allow Ironside to play the role he absolutely ruled in the JLA universe.

lovelydiva06 the jimmy working in 2013 is jimmy olsen the ( jimmy) that died in the earlier season was his older brother james olsen, so the jimmy from 2013 is the little kid that chloe gave the camera too at the funeral remember? but now hes just a little older in 2013

in the comics Jimmy olsen is real young 17 or 18, but on the show jimmy is around clarks age, so it kinda made sence to kill him off and give him a little brother ... thus "The REAL Jimmy olsen"

* and if my conculations are correct - Henry died about 2yrs ago and his little brother was around 12 or 13... which wud make him around 15 right now. - clarks dream was in 2013 which by then jimmy shud be 18. SO yes the writers knew wat they were doin

- the jimmy that died in season 8 was not the Jimmy olsen from the comics. the guy who died was Henry James Olsen. back in season 6 (or w/e season he was introduced) chloe introduces him to clark and he says his name is James Olsen chloe gave him the nickname "jimmy"

I agree with you about Smallville season 9 finale, absolutely epic!!!!! Can not believe this is their ninth season and I am excited for more seasons. I wanted it to end three or four seasons ago, because Clark was acting like the biggest EMO ever!!!!! Now he is becoming the superhero that we all know he can be! and to be home the plot like is endless. The writers have a potential to take this show to a totally new realm. Now I can die in peace.

that punch was insane, he punched zod a** so hard i think he went around the world and back, lol, it was just awesome, my favorite parts from season 9 finale, opening sequence, tess kicking zod's a**, for a little while anyways, oliver and the birdman's sarcastic remarks to one another, very funny, seeing jla all together even though they were on screens, clark throwing zod a nasty punch and saving lois, lois and blurs little romantic moment and her realizing who blur is and clark & zods fight

I've been trying to upload the 2nd part of our review for hours. I'm getting frustrated!!!

But anyway, I loved it! I didn't know Smallville could do "epic" but they did. Kudos to them. They're progressing faster into greatness than originally thought. Martha coming back and making his suit, Perry, Clark telling Lois "You're the one I need"...it's just great.

I fear that they're doing Darksied next season though and I think it's just too big for them. I'm a little nervous...

The season 9 finale is the best finale as well as the first real cliffhanger in two years...Every finale of smallville was a cliffhanger but we haven't seen the words "To Be Continued" flashed on the screen since Season 6 with Bizarro.

I have to agree. this finale was probably the best of all the seasons. I loved the last season abit more but the finale kinda let it down.

there were WAY too many cliff-hangers at the end of this finale. Seriously, what was with the old woman. that was creepy.

Best finale ever definitely!!! Granny goodness and parademons. But I think Granny gonna turn Tess into a fury and is Zod gone forever or coming back. Opening just epic. Can't wait for season 10 there are some high res where you can make out superman holding the plane clearly

I'm all for Darkseid and the Apokolips gang coming to Earth on Smallville. But I'm worried about a character like Granny Goodness, because as cool as all the Apokolips stuff sounds in the comics and the cartoons, on a live action show, you'll get a whole lot of people laughing like hyenas at a character named Granny Goodness. I just hope they can adapt her and the rest in a way that seems fitting and not ridiculous

I think this may very well beat my favourite season finale "Covenant". This was amazing! I think what attacked Oliver might be parademons :o As for Tess...I really hope she lives. I think she will, not much sense in having the potential Granny Goodness visiting her if she's not gonna do anything with her.
