It is pure and very, very near perfection. I remember it being awesome back than in NES days, I now see it being epic and awesome! These tunes still gets to the core of my mind : )
@MrAussiebuck Breaks in the rhythm are due to screens switching in the actual game. Hardware back then just couldn't play music and change graphics smoothly at the same time. That adds a truckload of authenticity though.
@EasyPeege The game was from 1992 indeed, but NES wasn't. While 16-bit consoles could handle smooth fade-in/fade-out transitions quite well NES had some problems with it. Or maybe it was just some poor coding there. Anyhow, you can see the actual slowdowns yourself if you get a NES emulator and the game rom.
@SonJazrin I know why did LJN make almost every movie game. Because Ocean made this game and Jurassic Park not bad games at all. I can only immagine if Ocean made Back to the Future or Jaws the music would have kicked so much ass.
@AXharoth man this music is freaking genius! I think it's awesome how whoever composed this manage to make some very catchy tunes on such small technological resources.
Sure it is quite nostalgic, but I think this game's music itself is pretty good. All the robocop titles have very catchy music.
LOL back when i was a kid i never really paid too much mind on the little girl with the gun. now that i look back at it im like "wtf!? she has a gun!!" hahahah
When i first saw this i couldnt believe they had a little girl holding a GUN. I see it today like 15 years later and i still cant believe it hahaha. I think she is supposed to be Nikko, but she never carried a gun in the movie, just her stupid almighty laptop.
@Maffewfucksmen : I thank you from the bottom of my heart for saying this... I composed this when I was 18 years old @ Probe Software Ltd. and this kind of feedback was impossible back then... Now it's 20 years later and people are still raving about this track... it's awesome to find this kind of feedback... on Youtube... (of all places)...
I had this on cart for my C-64, and I was expecting this version to be terrible. It's not actually that bad; the intro sounds good, but it does lose its power after 0:20. The slowdown is disappointing too. Definitely not as bad as some others are stating, though.
SO much better than the NES-intro in PAL... This couldn´t match upp to the C64 version tho.Course ther´s a bit hardware difficulties there. But still...
@Checkingokop no. but one must keep in mind that the game came first before the movie due to the fact that Robocop 3's movie premiere was delayed in 1991 until 1993 because of Orion's financial problems.
@figment1988 Yeah but the people who made the game still probably seen the movie long before it was officially released. Still a silly idea to give Niko a uzi when throughout the whole movie she's a wiz-kid.
@jax1492 No, that was in Robocop 2. But I can tell you one thing: it was kind of silly that they had an 8-10 year old girl become a computer hacker in Robocop 3.
Why'd his comment get voted down? C64 had a superior audio chip, accept it. This version has almost zero bass and the synths are not as good. Plus guys like Rob Hubbard and Jeroen Tel could do amazing things with the chip.
Completely agree.. This version is a poor immitation of the C64's classic version. Also, I don't know where this slow down is coming from - but it appears to stutter its way through on the NES. @robbiew73 I actually composed the tune on NES first! Some months later I converted (recomposed) the music to C64.
The "slow downs" are because the programmer was changing screens, leaving too little CPU time for the music to continue fluently. It greatly annoyed me (and it still does)...
Anyway, The hardware limitations of the NES soundchip don't make for the smoothness of the SID (C64) Soundchip...
Cheers,

Why'd his comment get voted down? C64 had a superior audio chip, accept it. This version has almost zero bass and the synths are not as good. Plus guys like Rob Hubbard and Jeroen Tel could do amazing things with the chip.
HenriTheHammer 2 years ago
Completely agree.. This version is a poor immitation of the C64's classic version. Also, I don't know where this slow down is coming from - but it appears to stutter its way through on the NES. The arpeggio effects are nowhere near as polished sounding as the C64s and the balance with the bass isn't really quite there. Limitations of the NES no doubts - and their programmers.
robbiew73 2 years ago
@robbiew73 I actually composed the tune on NES first! Some months later I converted (recomposed) the music to C64.
The "slow downs" are because the programmer was changing screens, leaving too little CPU time for the music to continue fluently. It greatly annoyed me (and it still does)...
Anyway, The hardware limitations of the NES soundchip don't make for the smoothness of the SID (C64) Soundchip...
