@M7Tracks 4 basic xlr cord could be pretty cheap depending on ur quality needs tho. I used some adapters to be able to connect them to pretty much anything. would thing to connect costed me like 60 but like I said, all depends on how expensive you want your gear.
@djayangel Hey I'm gonna get two KRK RP8G2 Rokit G2's and I'm wondering Can I just Buy four of these cords: "1/8 to the XLR"? I have a Pod X3 live effects pedal which i use for the PC. Will I be able to Hook up the Two Rokits and Play through them with these cords? thanks man!
@djayangel yeah they have em at Same day music! about 10$ a cord but hey I
d rather pay up then have complications. one more question. Can i hook up these cords to the mic port and eadphones jack on the front? And the other ones on the back of the comp? I'm not sure if i'll need something else to hook up to the computer?? thanks
@TheHaloReachEmpire All depending on what computer you have. My hp andmost hp's have a mic, headphone, and some other jack in the front and back. I connect all of mine to the back except for my headphone wen I record bcuz i dnt have a both.
@TheHaloReachEmpire yea hp computers like mine have headphone and mic jacks in the front and back but i use the ones in the back cuz i sometimes need to use the front ones for something else. This is why I used the adapters to connect into those jacks with the xlr cables. sounds prime still so no big deal
you dont really need the subwoofer when your mastering right? by the way What size are those? are they the medium ones that cost around 3 hundrer something?
@acidfriend47 Its true you dont actually need a sub. These are called rokit 8s bcuz they are 8" in diameter. These are the biggest size rokit monitors of their generation.
@rashaud352 you 4 xlr cables like the kind you use for microphones. Then an adapter to convert them to normal jacks to plug into your computer. That's how I did it but many would argue that's sacrificing some quality. To all their own.
HEYY I REALLY NEED i was wondering if you could fix my problem with my krk rokit rp5 speakers
ok my problem is that i hav no idea how to use these speakers i just started recording and stuff and i was trying to fix this fuzzy sound coming from the speakers, so i started mucking around with the speakers and i moved the red slidy button at the back the opposite way, i think its the voltage button it says 110V - 120V - 220V - 240V etc. and now my speakers wont even turn CAN YOU PLEASE HELP
@tcw00 the krks work together with the two monitors being hooked up to the subwoofer and the subwoofer to the computer. I simply got some adapters that change the xlr jacks into the headphone style jack to connect into the pc(i think its called 35mm jack? cant remember)

Anyone know how can I hear my sounds from Sound Blaster Fatal1ty I/O drive's aux -2? I just bought my krk monitors and am using the monster cables that hook up to the speakers and the "aux-2" from the I/O drive of the sound card. I can't hear any sound.. I've played with the settings of the console launger and the speaker settings but can't figure out why I'm not getting the sounds.. Any advise?
hey i dont realli know much about these music, i was just curious how do u connect your computer/laptop/mac to these krk speakers??, can u directly connect it and use it as external speakers for ur computer?
You're gonna slaughter your computers hard drive with the sub so close like that. And you also might wanna turn that sub down because most people I've seen with KRK's use them like a bloody stereo system you'd see in some rappers Escalade or something. Booming bass is not the way forward. Nice setup ya got there though.
xD I mean the whole point of studio monitors is accurate sound ain't it?, not that i can say my gear sounds totally flat because it's hi-fi gear; Marantz PM94 and some Celestion SL700's, but it reproduces the sound of the mixes I do quite faithfully. Upgrading to some Adam A7's soon methinks.
homie i already got them. it has got smashing sound! first i couldn't believe my ears :D get them. save some money and get them. for sure! i use them with my apogee duet. you should also get it.
Yeah i realized its pretty close to the harddrive but it has been sitting like that for two yrs now and its golden. The sub could use better positioning you're right.
oh damn i have this desk i got it @ staples for 90 bucks on clearance it works great for a home recording studio i love how it has the pedestals for the speakers, but the're meant for a printer or scanner it work good though..
It's called an 8-Ball named by Blue on its shockmount called The Ringer made by Blue as well. Its really great if you're on a budget. Mic is 100 bucks and shockmount like 30 or so. The mic stand elbow was another thing tho.
would i need a sub if i got a couple of rokit 8s? Their range is good but i know the KRK 10 sub goes down a little farther in the 30 hz range. what do you think?
no, and if ur room is small 8s are too big. I got 5" and they rock my room but then again I'm a student. All in krk serie are good for their price, but not the best out there obviously. Good beginner speakers till you drop some big bucks into it :)

A man Great vid and setup but i coulnt help but notice that ur sub is next to ur computer. Not to b all in ur biz but they say that subs carry powerfull magnets and need to placed at least 2 feet away from hard drivesetc. or it will wipe it. jus letten ya kno
