@alpha771 SP's live sound _always_ depended on Jimmy to fill out, I mean they were awesome live but on a recording a song like this with the guitars tuned to C doesn't really work live. Too much space between the guitars and Billy's tone.

Kind of an irrelevant tangent, but I've had a few, so what the hell. To all those kids who apply the term "emo" to anything that has the least bit of a moody tinge to it: please stop retro-actively saturating our culture with a vast generalization that only applies to the lame ass pseudo-punk bands that have errupted after the rise of gothic, industrial, and otherwise Burton-esque groups. Emo is a great way to label My Chemical Romance.

The way I'd differentiate is that Emo essentially has nothing but a surface melancholy that implies mom and dad wouldn't lend the fucking car out. Sorry for getting hung up on genres, since music is indicative of itself and we get way to concerned with how to categorize shit, but I'm going to indulge. Nine Inch Nails is not emo, its industrial if its anything. Nor is Joy Division emo. T-Bone Walker and Robert Johnson aren't "emo", they have the legitimate, non-contrived fuckin' blues. My bad

Because the last two actually are emo to some degree (and I say that as a matter of style, not insult) and because My Chem gets pegged emo like the Pumpkins were first pegged as grunge: timing. The Pumpkins can never be pegged as emo though; they can't be pegged as any one thing. It's those bands that become the best, the ones that defy description (unless they defy description because they make no sense whatsoever lol).
