@c4ssiogois 'i had the pleasure to watch them play in orlando last year.. it was AMAZING!!!!! AMAZING. and i totally mean this no homo.. it was emotional.
@DrJuice1 im not taking sides or anything, but this video was posted in 2008, before the album 'chez viking' even came out...back in 2008-2009, this was was called untitled on their myspace.
My wife & I saw these fantastic band play in 2003, & now they are playing here on 3/13 & we CAN'T WAIT. Go get this cd, it's called Chez Viking. I think it may be the best one yet! Thanks for reading!
Yeah, I heard something about that, but there's not much information. I hope they really are working on that new album. El Ten Eleven is good, and so is Maseratti, but they lack the perfect mixture The Mercury Program's members make.
they didnt split they all live in different citys but they were working on an album in greece this year. i am pretty sure they just dont feel like doing doing shows and being a band as the only thing they do. they're still togeather
I agree completely. Could quite possibly be that all their live recordings are that much better than their studio stuff since I don't enjoy their CDs as much as this song for example.
please, for the love of music, get this new material out. It's absolutely brilliant. There is some live videos in japan of TMP which are well worth watching, such a good live band.
"There is a new TMP record that is almost completed...well, the basic tracking is all done anyway. Hopefully we'll find some time to get together and get it done soon."
here's what I know- Tom (guitarist) lives in Gainesville FL w/his wife and is a graphic/web designer, Dave (drummer) lives in NYC and periodically visits Gainesville to play w/ a band called Papercranes, Sander (bass) also lives in NYC still (I think)- and I want to say he's a chef?, and Whit (keys) lives in Colorado I believe, I dunno what he's up to.
If anyone can get ahold of the No Idea records 'Back to Donut' comp, give the Mercury Program track on there a listen, you'll be suprised.
Their myspace says that they're basically on hiatus at the moment. They say they all have different priorities and that they don't know when they'll be back.
What sucks is they have new material playing on their myspace but it's unfinished and there is no plan for an album or tour at the moment.
What sucks even more is that I just discovered these guys a month ago and they became one of my favorite bands. Then I discover that the band is done for the forseable future.
Man, Dave is a phenomenal drummer. You guys are an absolute inspiration to musicians everywhere.
