  • My Favourite Carol, & beautifully sung,by Sissel,Thanks ~ Arthur

  • It is just too stagy and above all not the right pronunciation.

  • THIS IS FROM CHRISTINA ROSETTI IT IS NOT HER SONG

  • Oh boy, I am in Love with Sissel,, God made a beauty.

  • Lovely voice! I love this pieces and she made it beyond enjoyable :D

  • Sissell is absolutely beautiful, and her voice was used as a guide for Tahlia and Ingrid when they started to sing. Check my channel for the "Seltic Sirens" and their Christmas songs (and other) to check Australia's purest vocalists

  • I'd never heard of this lady before- what a loss on my part

  • beautiful,,,

  • This is beautiful and she has a beautiful voice, my only complaint would be why she chose to miss half the song out. Theres two verses missing.

  • Brilliant! If I was a weeper, I would weep!

  • I like her voice but I think it's better with a choir singing it. Not dissing, I just think this song needed something extra that a choir gives.

  • What a voice!

  • SISSEL IN SONG IS THE AIR AS AN OLYMPIC GOLD MEDALIST ON THE ICE .

HER SINGING TRANSCENDS LANGUAGE DUE TO HER LOVE, EMOTION, AND PASSION.

  • 6 people have a strange meaning about who´s good singers and not. Just saying she´s amazing.

  • My music teacher showed me this. She is very pretty and such an amazing singer!

  • I'm into scramo, hard rock, and emo punk but this is just so amazing and beautiful :')

  • A wonderfull voices with a super feeling!!

  • I think she would be great with Celtic Woman :)

  • I meet Sissel at backstage greet in her first US tour, think March or so of 2002. She signed the DVD, and answered my questions of a cruise up the Norway coast we should take, She was comming up on 10 mililion CDs sold. She is the most down to earth celeb that I have known or heard, and we know many. God Bless her and her family.

  • I meet Sissel at backstage greet in her first US tour, think March or so of 2001 or 2002. Signed the DVD, and talked a lot. She sold us on a cruise up the Norway coast, and hear her explain it was wonderful. Think about that time, she was comming up on 10 mililion CDs sold. Should be 100 million. She is the most down to earth celeb that I have known or heard, and we know many. God Bless her and her family.

  • This was my granda's favourite sing. Sadly he passed away last year and I can still see him singing this

    RIP Granda xx

  • one of favorite songs and one of my favorite singers!

  • So beautiful!!! Speechless!

  • I love/hate this song. I don' t like winter, rain, cold at all. But this song fits the almost sadness of the season yet a joyful smile of the gift to the Christ Child.

  • This one is rather dull, with voice rather fading at end of each phrase. To be honest, this particular setting by Holst is rather glum. Lets hear her on the Darke.

As Photojack says - "the song doesn't let Sissel show what she's got"

  • I love this song! However, the lyrics "What shall I give him, poor as I am, if I were a shepherd I would a lamb." What would a baby do with a lamb? Why a lamb!

  • @nicholasnoble The baby would eat it, after mummy has made a nice stew.

  • She has a lovely voice, but half the song is missing. I would have liked to hear her sing the whole thing. It has at least 2 more verses. Pity.

  • I really love when she say: " Yet, what i can and give him" at 2.4 i love her face and smile.

  • I SANG THIS SONG LAST YEAR AT MIDNIGHT SERVICE. SISSEL WAS MY INSPIRATION

  • Beautiful, but to nit pick the way I was taught to sing "Iron" was to pronounce it "Irn" not "I-yern" or "I-ron" as she did.

  • @patrick9648 Although her English is very good, remember she is not a native English speaker. Her first twho languages are Norwegian and Danish.

  • This is nice but the song doesn't let Sissel show what she's got. She's amazing singing somebody else's songs. Just imagine if some writers get together and write songs specifically for her talent.

  • I attended this concert.. This is my favorite Christmas song, and now Sissell is one of my favorite performers. Nicely captured here.

  • I've never heard this song with words. The words don't seem to fit nicely. Were the words added later to the song, or was it something like a poem first and turned into a song later?

  • @Siliven Yes it was a poem first then several composers set it different tunes. :) Sissel makes some small changes to the phrasing here and there though, that might be why the words don't seem to fit.

  • Nicely sung...I wonder does she sing the very challenging "Oh Holy Night"

  • @bilstew She recorded a Swedish translation of it at her 16. You can watch it by changing the last part of the address to: watch?v=8oeLLncUQCk

A bootleg recording from her concert:

    watch?v=vOQag20Dsws

  • @wysose many thanks wysose will have a listen ...regards....bil.

  • @bilstew Yes there are 2 versions on YT. She sings them in swedish

  • @sygepleje2054 You are almost right. She sings in Norwegian. ;)

  • @dnase2000 Ups. This was an answer to @bilstew. He asked if there were any versions of Oh Holy Night with Sissel. There are 2 very good ones.

  • OH MAN! AMAZING!

  • Superbly executed, by why leave out the verses in the middle?

  • @sisselfan Guess whos sitting in front row in Göteborg 25/ 2...? YESSSS!

  • WOW! WOW! and yes, WOW!

  • Sissel was outstanding in the concert she sang with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. What a beautiful voice!! I was there.

  • Thanks for posting this video.

  • I was at this concert with the Sissell and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir a few years back. It was absolutely wonderful.

  • Dear Sissi, Voiced consonants ARE a problem for Scandinavian singers e.g. Abba. Still ,take a tip from me and try to sing a wiZe man and not a WiSSSe man!

  • Eurofrank, Sissel is greater than the english language. If she sais it will be no vocal with s, so there isn't. All you can do is to re-phonetize the english language.

  • I do believe that I, a highly qualified thrower of pearls, have found yet another "swine", by the name of PelleNesen, to add to my long list! God save the English language!!!!! Amen

  • Eurofrank, I do admire your strong faith, your belief with no support from mother nature. I wouldn't dare to challenge you god. In lack of knowledge in what direction to point my sword. I do must say he has given you a great task. If God wanted to save the english language, or any other for that matter, why did he make it so that the absolutely only sensible reason for language, is to get understood, but no reasonable restrictions for how to pronounce or write?

  • Give that advice to the bulk of US-British singers and songtresses which have been raping the English language. Sessil sings in a perfect English.

  • @Brigadirok - Judging from the poor English you have written here, you are definitely not in a position to assess anyone´s ability to sing or speak it, so please refrain from posting silly, unqualified comments!

  • Will you be so kind to point to the grammar mistakes of mine? I really wonder where my "poor English" let me down...

By the way, what other languages but English do you know?

  • With all due respect, you are not the one singing, sir. Also, she is not just speaking the words just for the sake of the words, but each consonant creates a mood. Adding a haunting "sss" to a phrase adds color to what may be a stagnant sentence. Say the word "across" with a soft s and an accented c and listen to the effect. Words convey meaning and color. Her enunciation isn't a problem, but more likely a creative choice.

  • Respect from romania...

  • Adorei aprender esta canção e jamais a deixarei de cantar, é sem duvida uma das mais belas canções de natal , silvia.
