  • sounds like a crazy woman screaming. jajaja. thanks for the video.

  • Sounds like a demon

  • I like those frog noises.

  • The fox ussually do it to scare out animals at night and to let eachother know where they are.

  • couldn't have been calling a mate, I know that mountain lions make a screaming sound that sounds like a lady getting killed when they're trying to call for a mate.

  • Shut up, you fucking slag! I'm trying to sleep here, you stupid bitch. Get fucked during the day!!! Don't ever wake me at 2:00 in the morning again. I panicked and mistook you for a woman getting raped!!

  • The Tree Frogs Make It Sound More Creepy

  • I remember hearing a fox scream about 6 years ago, sounded like a girl being murdered. My family ran out the door because we had a cat that like to sleep outside. We found my cat huddled up to a tree with the fox staring right at him about 20 ft away. my brother scared off the fox and saved the kitteh :3 Poor kitty was shaking

  • I just heard this outside, it scared my mom half to death, and its been making my dog freak for the past few nights.

  • That is a fisher red foxes are more of a wimpering soundr

  • I heard this sound at my uncles house. We investigated to find it was coming from a silo and then we ran thinking it was a human

  • So, is this normal for foxes? There are some foxes near my new house, it seems only one of them screams (right outside my first floor window too!) and I didn't know if it was sick or injured or a baby or something. I'd love to hear from someone who knows more about it.

  • @SerenaBlackCat

What you're hearing is a female fox (vixen) looking for some lovin. This is their mating call, it's normal.

  • thats normal

  • I moved to a new area near woods & have been hearing this. It is pretty scary when you aren't used to it. First time I heard it I thought it had rabies because I thought foxes were shy & quiet.

  • U R TARDS Its a fisher cat look it up

  • most definatley a red fox was this taken about january - febuary time?? because thats when they tend to make this noise, it is vixen screaming for a mate.

  • Thanks for posting this.. I heard this racket at about 2:00 a.m. last night and watched out the window for a bit and finally saw the fox making the calls. There were 2 of them. It's not a mating call or anything because they should have just had their litters in the last month or so. I hope they weren't out looking for a lost kit. I did find one website that indicated this might be a warning call.. it was sure loud enough and does sound like some kind of distress signal...

  • Sounds more like a young mountain lion. When they get older their screams get longer.

  • just some frogs smoking bongs that make whistle sounds :D

  • dont freak out ppl, its just justin beiber being strangled.

  • @tharailwaydra HA!! GOOD ONE!

  • HAHAHAHHA FOXES... FROGS!!! WHAT ELSE???? NATURE IS SO MYSTERIOUS!!! I THOUGHT IT WAS BIRDS AS WELL... SOO FUNNY :-)

  • It is , it's outside my house we tried to figure out what it was for like two days . It sounds like some woman is screaming , and it was right in my backyard too .

  • @bezalel44 when it sound like a babby or a screaming woman trust me im 100% sure its a fisher cat

  • @THEMAN1410 Fox.

  • Heard this tonight across the street from me. Thought it was a Mountain Lion because they have been spotted near us.... but I have seen several fox around so this deffinately makes me feel safer! LOL

  • Heard this tonight across the street from me. Thought it was a Mountain Lion because they have been spotted near us.... but I have seen several fox around so this deffinately makes me feel safer! LOL

  • When I began hearing this outside of my house in the Rockies I tried & tried to track down what it was. I finally found it was a red fox, but youre right - in person its even more chilling!

I just came in from my porch after having had a nice little convo w/ Kiki, one of the local foxes who for some reason has taken a liking to me. I heard her barking (this exact same sound) up the hill, called her a few times, & she came down, sat right next to my porch, & barked some more. Amazing to watch!

  • Thank God! I have been hearing this for the past two nights behind my house, and it's been scaring the Hell out of me. I was beginning to wonder if Bigfoot was visiting me. At least I can sleep now that I know what it is.

  • Those are definitely tree frogs and definitely a fox....I have many of both on my property.

  • Can a red fox scream up to 10 seconds sorta like the sound in this vid but very high pitched?

  • @evilbeast67 yes.

  • i heard this last night walking from my car. i said "what the fuck!?" and ran like a girl.

  • Thanks so much for posting this, I have never heard anything this frightening until I moved here to PA. Heard these same terrifying sounds (much worse in person) coming from the field by my home several times in the last 18 mo. & never had a clue what it could be till I saw a red fox outside the other day. Only then did I put 2 & 2 together. Thanks again; now I will try to sleep!

  • i got one in my garden :)

  • My dad called the police last night after hearing this, lol!

  • why do female red fox scream like a rape session?

  • Would be very scary

    if you didn't know it

    was a fox!! It sound

    like a child screaming

  • The crickets make it even creepier!!

  • I heard a noise one night at my cottage at like 2:00 A.M, and it sounded kind of like this but longer cries, and higher pitched. I'm convinced it was a fox or like cat mating or something. I was so scared!

  • Thats a fisher.......creepy isnt it?

  • fuck the pellet gun,,get the real guns. Pellet gun,,please.

  • Thats a fisher cat..

  • I just had the Red Fox screaming in my backyard. [Western NY] and the first time a few weeks ago it scared me awake. This time I know what it was but nonetheless is it scary. It's usually a vixen calling for a mate, but it really does sound like a woman getting murdered, which is what is frightening to your bones, especially in person.

  • I have listened and compared other fox cries to the fisher cat cries and this definitely sounds more like a fisher cat. I heard this sound on my street two nights ago and deduced it was a fisher cat. I live in North Eastern MA.

  • This sounds more like a fisher cat to me.

  • Does anyone know why it makes that barking sound. Cuz i have one by my house and sometimes you wont hear it for weeks, then you'll hear it for about 5-10minutes a couple times a night for a few days.

  • get the pellet gun

  • i hear this alot outside my house, i hear cats aswell they sound like a baby crying then a really loud scream. scary..

  • i keep hearing this and i can't figure out what it is >.< it's terrifying!

  • Hmmm, could be the same thing in my backyard woods... it kinda sounded like someone strangling a racoon, repeatedly.

  • this is fucking frustrating,

I mean what the hell is that.

sorry if it badly to express myself but I'm Hungarian and I can not English

  • Just heard that loud scream a few min a go at 1.15am-ish. Do you copy? Roger! Over!

  • it's just me and quagmire... :C

  • This is Cow or worm or fish

  • We have wild cats around that we feed. the fox attacked one recently and its eye was completely red and mutilated. i'm hearing one now in my neighbor's back woods and it's making an even higher pitched scream than this one and its quick and repetitive. What does this cry mean? Is it an attack call, distress call etc.?

  • Just heard one outside :) Have seen red foxes many times, but have not heard the loud screaming so close before. It was a beautiful and well fed red fox walking in the street and seemed a bit lost, poor thing.. He walked down a slope and disappeared after a while. No traffic and hope he found his way back to the wood, everything is quiet again :)

  • Man, it really does sound like someone getting murdered.

  • ya thats a fox

  • the tree frogs makes it more creepy

  • It sounds like a cat being murdered

  • This could be the elusive Fisher Cat eh!

  • antichrist

  • we have frogs like these in florida. first time i ever heard them was in port st, lucy. my grandmother called them, "peepers"

  • i ave never heard one but a few minutes ago my mom heard a shriek in the woods we think maybe its a baby fox or raccoon crying for its mother or hurt

  • yeah those are frogs.

  • true it does sound like a girl being raped or murded

  • Tree frogs. Hmm. I would have never guessed. We assumed it was a bird based on the sound but didn't know for sure. Thanks for telling me.

The screaming is a Red Fox though, that I'm 100% sure about.

  • @BritInPink7 those frogs are called spring peepers i catch them all the time in the spring

  • When I first heard these, my friend and I thought people were dying, and my partially deaf dad couldn't hear it so we thought we were nuts. Then the next morning the house across the street was burned down, but that was coincidence, didn't seem like it though.... My life was ruined for weeks thinking we heard people die. Everyone's fine, but stupid scary animals...

  • i heard this on the night before school, at 3am, didnt get much sleep that night.

  • thanks for posting that video... now we know what kept us up while camping the other night.

  • seeing this will never make people shiver til they have heard it in real life.... i live in the middle of pigwood ny so i hear stuufc like this every 2 or 3 weeks and i gives me the chills every time

  • They are so spooky when far away but up close they are annoying, actually both ways they are annoying, i have a few by my house they come out at night mostly and make those noises but not that much, but when they do it scares the living shit outta me , they sound like someone screaming in pain!!!

  • fucking wanted to stab the fox that was doing this in my backyard. lol

  • Haha yeah, no shit. I had one doing this in my backyard a few nights ago at like 2am. Not only was the sound kinda creepy and annoying, but it made my dog go nuts barking, so I lost sleep for two reasons.
