Millen wanted Mariucci but couldn't get him, so when Mooch was canned in SF it became obvious he was coming to Detroit. My thought on both Mooch and Marinelli is they should have had the freedom to assemble their staffs, instead of the GM doing it. Mooch never got the chance to assemble his own staff in either city, so there's no cohesion or harmony. Not sure if JS has say so, but he's been consistent.
