  • I still cannot believe that he took the wind.

  • He was not the last winning coach for Detroit. Do u know his overall record? What r u talking about

  • me and my buddies went to eagles training camp and marty cut us off in his 7 series bmw then proceeded to try and fight us all in the middle of the road

  • hey all you stupid ass motherfuckers the penatly was actually on the lions and coach morhinweg was right. so figure out what actually happpened before you make an ass out of your self ok

  • lmfao I loved this, he's so funny..

  • Not quite sure how they "fucked over Barry Sanders", but hey, I'm sure you're right.

  • Not quite sure why you're so smug when you don't know much about it, but hey.

They fucked over Barry Sanders by continually fielding a horrible team for his entire career. He retired one year removed from his absolute prime season because he realized he was never going to win despite playing so well. Obviously he wasn't going to be traded either. It killed his desire and it would do the same to most people in such a position: being the best at what you do and having no success despite that.

  • Oh wow. So because they didn't gift wrap him a super bowl team they "fucked him over"? Dude, the Lions sure have fucked over a lot of players then, decades before and after Barry. Lol, he never even wanted to play football. He never demanded a trade either.

  • Yeah bro. He didn't want to play and that's why he said himself that the culture of losing made him quit. HURRR BARRY IS FULL OF SHIT TOO I KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT

  • Why didn't it kill Dan Marinos desire? What about OJ Simpson? Don't buy into that bad team crap. Barry even thought about not going pro until his father forced him.

  • Perhaps because... different people do not always share the same psychology???

no what a wacky idea surely it's that barry sanders is a horrible monster pussy coward faggot hi i am a faggot whose entire understanding of human psychology comes from my high school football coach (who also touched my dink after practice). my name is SeanP7195. i am a moron. hi.

  • @SeanP7195 It was the Lions. You're a dumbass.

  • No asshole, you're the dumbass. He was a crybaby who blamed a thousand different things (and still does). His latest reason is that he feared life long injury.

  • @SeanP7195 Yeah, that's not a valid reason. Who doesn't want to be dependent on others by the age of 50? Concussions are common in contact sports. Especially in the NFL, more specifically the RB position. They take so many blows every game. Maybe he should have played til he had dementia. You are a dumbass lawl.. I'm not sure what you are getting at.. Barry played 10 years.. OJ played 11..

  • @SeanP7195 Barry left the game when he was on top. He was a humble player. Does it matter if he didn't love football as much as the next guy? No. Was he good? Yes. Was he great? Yes.

Why does it matter about how much he was dedicated? Why would you call him a crybaby? He's one of the greatest RBs ever.. truly gifted individual.. no one could move like him.

  • You're full of shit

They constantly reworked Barry's contract, paid him well.

    He was treated like royalty.

He never asked for a trade to my knowledge.

Fact was, Barry was a strange cat. I saw all his snaps over 10 years and he was the greatest back to ever touch the ball.

That cliche "He could go the distance anytime he toucheds the ball"

With Barry it wasn't a cliche, it was who he was

  • You're full of shit. I didn't say anything about his contract. He was obviously paid extremely well. They sucked out his will to play the game, as I said, and as he has said numerous times.

  • Thats what he said when he was hawking his book

Who gives a shit what Barry said?

He was a great back but he was a fucking quitter. Payton was over 30 when the Bears went to the SB, he wasn't a quitter tho

  • dumb ass coach who new someone to get the job.lions even fucked over barry sanders.

  • However, he did go on to be a pretty good offensive cooridinator for the Eagles...

  • lmao

  • haha i remember marty saying he choose to kick because the wind was blowing in a certain direction. but i think they played in a dome hahaha

  • nah it was in chicago aka the windy city

but still thats no excuse to choosing to kick after winning the coin toss in OT

bears ended up winning that game by scoring a FG on the opening drive

  • He also declined a penalty that would have forced the Bears to punt, or something similar.

  • The funniest part was the next morning on the front cover of the free press it read "The Lions take the wind and get Blown Away!"

hahahha classic Marty... yes it was @ Chicago and obviously they do not play in a dome.

  • that was in chicago at the begining of overtime like the fag he was he defered it

  • That was in soldier field, against the Bears

  • This short clip sums up the Lions in all ways!

  • i think he declined the ball in OT cuz he bet on the game

  • What was Marty thinkin'? It's not college football when one team gets one possession.

In the NFL, it's SUDDEN DEATH!

  • Back then it was one possesion like college.

  • no it wasnt.

  • Man shut up and learn football

  • Detroit lions undefeated so far

  • Yeah I remeber that. Why the hell did he kick the ball off in ot when he won the coin toss. Shows how much football knowledge Mcmullen has and I hope you guys keep Roy Williams got damn Mcmullen pay the man.

  • The bar is high.

  • He was such a douche... Who in the hell declines to receive when you win the coin toss in OT?

  • Lol i remember that nightmare game, Morninweg was a douche. Lets not dwell on the past Detroit is 4-2 right now!!!

  • not anymore haha

  • hahaha dude ur funny, but yea go lions.

  • lmao i guess hes a dumbass

  • Lol damn lions

  • Bring back Wayne Fontes!

  • or Bobby Ross...lol

  • @glory789 he was the last winning coach for the lions

  • @wackymac28 Last winning coach of the Lions (officially) was Gary Moeller, 4-3 before Millen fired him.

  • @andrewps84 they never shoulda canned gary moeller, then they wouldnt have sucked dick all these years

  • @wackymac28 I agree...I'm no Michigan fan (as Mo coached there for 5 years) but I lived Gary Moeller coaching the Lions. But Ford was an idiot and probably didn't want anyone that smart running his team...hoepfully he doesn't somehow continue this curse with Schwartz.

  • @andrewps84 im sure he still regrets it to this day. he carried that curse with steve mariucci and he sucked and rod marinelli sucked. i feel like the lions will do well with schwartz. they have a chance to be good this year if stafford stays healthy.

  • @wackymac28 Well with the 5 years of Morninwheg and Mariucci it was the same coach, really. Millen wanted Mariucci but couldn't get him, so when Mooch was canned in SF it became obvious he was coming to Detroit. My thought on both Mooch and Marinelli is they should have had the freedom to assemble their staffs, instead of the GM doing it. Mooch never got the chance to assemble his own staff in either city, so there's no cohesion or harmony. Not sure if JS has say so, but he's been consistent.

  • i miss coach marty

    but coach rod wrestles bears

    when are we gunna win

  • Why does Matt Millen suck so badly? EXHIBIT A: Marty Morningwhehadhhwedweg. UHHHH, it's tough being a Lions fan.

  • and to think: this dingaling wants to coach again...

  • Ah, it's great being a Lions fan...:S
