  • Great arrangement! having lived through covers of great Beatles songs through Kid Rock's version of Queens "Fat Bottom Girls and so much more, i must say that is is one of the greatest covers ever. Rivals what Joe Cocker did with "With a Little Help From My Friends" or Matallica doing Bob Seger's "Turn the Page." This is haunting, refreshing, and even spiritual in some respects.

  • I love it!

  • what a piece of shit

  • love the melancolic touch of snow patrol on a u2 song

  • Haha i know what inspired him im proud :D

  • By far the worst cover on the Achtung Baby tribute album. It sounds like Radiohead.

  • @numb15

Far worse than that, it sounds like a very average Radiohead tribute band covering a very average U2 tribute band... Snow Patrol are so bland...

I like an ambitious cover, I don't like a dull one...

  • Very nice.

  • bit slow, loved the original BUT Gary Lightbody's voice is just incredible as usual.

  • this cover is a fantastic ode to achtung baby. Its not quite perfect, , but hey, everyone put in the effort and spare time for this. When i heard DM were covering and killers, i expected them to do those songs... only the other way round. turned out brilliant though. And personally i think this snow patrol one is brilliant. Glasvegas perhaps went overkill on the effects.. And as much as i love Damien Rice, he had no chance. the original is a classic, and the Johnny Cash cover is untouchable

  • I have never posted a youtube comment before, and probably never will again...but this abomination should be erased from this world. What kind of limp baby d*** m***** tickler can mess up "Mysterious Ways"?! Does youtube allow cussing?

  • @charlesonhenninger i don't agree with your opinion but it made me laugh lol. and yes they allow cursing.

  • Wow - Most exxxcellent . Sexyyyy

  • Uh sorry, but after loving the original, i respect that Snow Patrol made it their own....but its just boring and I'd skip it every time it appeared on shuffle.

  • good cover!

  • Love it

Groovy in a laid back way !

  • This is bad. They were going for simple and intriguing, but delivered simplistic and so boooring. Terrible cover.

  • 20 people sucks!

  • I don't know how it works but if bloody does!

  • I miss the futuristic dance music element but this is great!

  • boring!!!!!!!!!

  • @Hallucination and Damien Rice too!!!

  • @Hallucination The Killers delivered a boring cover? I think not.

  • @thatCanadiangrrrl Totally agree! That portion sends shivers down my spine. I'm a U2 fan, not a Snow Patrol fan, but this cover is great in a completely different way than the original song, which I adore.

  • THUMBS UP......

IF I'M GLAD TO HEAR THIS COVER OR IF SNOW PATROL IS ONE OF THE BEST BANDS.....

  • Snowpatrol4life

  • I'll be honest. I hate Snow Patrol. But I like this. What I like about cover versions is that you get to hear and appreciate the lyrics of the song because your hearing it in a different way. A classic example of this is Gary Jules' version of Mad World. The original is just a great song but his version gets you listening to the song in a completely different way. And this version is kinda similar to that

  • I don't think it's a bad cover, actually it's a good one but it's different! I mean they did it in their own way with their own style. Why do you say it's bad? Because it doesn't sound like the original? Well, I think this is the point of making a cover - you don't have to try it to sound just like the original version, you make it on your own!

  • Hmmm Meh.

  • 3:36.........3:36........3:36 ONWARD is 'my' personal fav portion!! Unique all around, but hell I 'have' like 'beeeeen' THERE since THE beginning of 'their' time together so they cannot do any wrong !!

  • He is singing to no one

  • ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE .

  • So restrained, almost lazy. Brilliantly done.

  • Rule number one of a cover song: Never compare it to the original. It's the hardest rule to follow, yes even harder than following the speed limit on the freeway in a twin turbo BMW. Both of which I happen to be guilty of. That said as a Snow Patrol and U2 fan I thought this cover was wonderful! Very different yes, but Gary stayed true to his brand of music while doing it. (PS Bono wins for name coolness, sorry Gary.)

  • so simple....bad cover

  • Bad cover !! Bono puts more passion when he sings !!

  • this is so boring

the killers and jack white definitely did the best job with covers on this album

  • His singing voice is "alright" but where's the gusto that this song demands?

  • i like it!

  • That´s why these are covers, they´re not supposed to be the same as the original!

I was shocked at first ´cause this song is so powerful...But i absolutelly loved what Snow Patrol did here

  • lazy. they were better off letting someone else have a go at it if they were going to slack off like this

  • yeah this completely sucks

  • They would've had a winner if they swelled it up at the first chorus and rocked out.

  • horrible.

  • ruined it

  • I am one of the biggest U2-Fans in the world but I adore Snow Patrol as well .. so I'm excited about this cover although I must confess that the original version by U2 is much more powerful... Nevertheless well done, guys! See you in Belfast in January!

  • This song sounds 'mysterious'!

  • Eh... This cover is a bit boring, but the minimalism is at least done well.

  • They did good with this one LOVE SnowPatrol !!!!

  • guitar sounds like the begining of moment of surrender..

  • @daditab you are right!! I had the same idea!!

  • I love where Snow Patrol went with this one. Great cover

  • Wow, I actually really like it. Glasvegas, Snow Patrol and Gavin Friday have done good by U2. The others? Not so much.

  • @ChristyRae75 Glasvegas is awful compared to the original imho, but besides Snow Patrol and Gavin Friday, Killers and Garbage did a good job as well not to mention Patti Smith.
