mm Watch a lot of anime, read books/comics, play lots of video games and take in all the cool ideas from them and make bits and pieces of level, gadgets. Once you got all the gadgets you don't have to use all of them but think of ways to combine them into level. Keep the other ones for new gadget ideas, for future levels. Thats how I do mines.

don't think he used a large one if he did use a randomizer, could be just a patterns, and having it emit out from one side and disappear on other.
