Is this the definition Gibson gave?? No, he was referring to an older version. Sarah Palin was absolutely correct in asking Charlie to clarify his ambiguous question! There have been no less than four versions of the Bush Doctrine over the past eight years.

There are multiple parts to the Bush Doctrine, and you can look that up. Palin asking about his "world views" was a valid question because at least one of those parts basically states that we should spread democracy. For her to ask "In what respect?" was totally valid; how can she answer the question when his question wasn't clear?

Actually, the most qualified Vice-presidential candidates in recent memory were George H. W. Bush, followed by Dick Cheney. We've all witnessed just how well that turned out. Bill Clinton was no more qualified than Sarah Palin. Jimmy Carter, perhaps less so. When you examine history, the least qualified candidates are often remembered by history as the best Presidents, i.e. a Lincoln or a Washington, with the Carter's and the Grants proving the negative.
