  • what film is this from ??

  • @beccaj101101 ...Please tell me that you're joking

  • @Rameenz :o your right! I never would of thought of that! God, I hate that she, you know... ;(

  • I don't know why, but I just really love Robert Downey Jr.'s eyes!

  • it's kind of funny that holmes went to his hidden safe first, because of "A Scandal In Bohemia"

  • @skeletalpigeon14 I know right? Irene did the same thing xD

  • 'Is that the Maha Raja's missing diamiond?' - Best bit!

  • her voice is seeexy

  • @AxCYeR she is sexy haha, as is he. ;)

  • Poison tea foreshadowing!

  • I'm gonna miss her...

  • I love how he pretends to be casually playing the violin at the end haha

  • Irene must be very strong. I can't crack nuts like that with my bare hands...

  • @mrsotter19 She's a ball breaker.

  • @Blahgahbleh LOL. Good one!

  • I loveeee Rachel Mcadams she can play ANY role perfectly

  • I find it ironic that the first time we see her is her cracking nuts.

  • The relationship between Holmes and Irene Adler in this movie reminds me of the relationship between Duncan McLeod and Amanda in Highlander. Duncan knows that Amanda always has utterior motive when she visits him, but plays along.

  • To me, Gayle Hunnicutt is the best Irene Adler :D

  • he knew her before this didnt they lol

  • The most important thing this video teaches: Never accept a handjob from Rachel McAdams.

  • Alright, I know the vid doesn't go this far, but when he's diving from the window to chase her, is it just me, or does he squawk like a crow?

  • There is Nothing Hotter then a beautiful woman who can hold her own and with a massive intelligence. Irene Adler is the Perfect Woman!

  • You can tell he fucking wants to like rape her and stuff... LOL Shes amazing I agree with him <3

  • Oh gosh, this is so wrong. I'm not one to go around looking for things I don't like and complaining about it, but I'm a die hard fan of Sherlock Holmes and so naturally I was curious of this new adaptation. I just think you guys should know that this is not Sherlock Holmes. Everything good, decorous, exiting and interesting is taken out and all that's left is these Hollywood perverts with they're typically hollow banter.

  • @TheSeaCallsMeHome I think it's way more entertaining but the ethics are certainly downplayed or erased - depending.

I think rachel mcadams was a bad choice for the role but they wanted a tart.

No morals was for some reason scintellating bait for this sherlock version. But then - hollywood, as you said.

  • @TheSeaCallsMeHome I've always been a huge fan of Sherlock Holmes, though Downey Jr's Holmes is a bit robust, he's still very much like Sherlock Holmes. You have to remeber, Sherlock holmes is NOT the cuddly, gentleman the old 80's television shows make him out to be. He's at best, the greatest detective in history, but a sociopath.

  • @Cheshirecat55 not really a sociopath. he was friendly when he was in a good mood, grumpy and distant and cold in a bad mood. didnt like incompetent people. he stood for justice.. the new BBC series tried to make him cool(er) by making him a sociopath.

  • @wimpylassiter2336 in the novels and stories, he's always very distant. Bit of a gentleman, but he can be really nasty at times.

  • @Cheshirecat55 I'm now relatively sure he's modeled after someone Arthur Conan Doyle knew who had Asperger's syndrome.

  • @yerk3 He's modelled on one of ACD's teachers. Can't remember his name. But yes, Holmes was sketched from a live model.

  • @TheSeaCallsMeHome I prefer to think of it as a Sherlock Holmes reinvented for today's audience. I agree they twisted his character a bit, and it's very different, but Sherlock is still Sherlock..

  • This scene is so poorly done. Irene Adler comes across like a bubblegum-chewing teenager, not an opera star and woman of the world; Holmes,as played by Downey, seems like a comic book twit. I can see why this movie will be quickly forgotten.

  • Hot pink satin? Red lipstick? Smoky eyeshadow? Does she realize she's in Victorian England? Lol.

  • @AWickedMind In the books, at least, the eyeshadow and lipstick can by explained by her being an opera singer and an actress (actresses were expected to wear heavy makeup in those days), and the satin just shows how she flouts the moral conventions of British society.

  • Who is that actress?! She is GORGEOUS!!!

  • @meganerd14 It's Rachel McAdams.

  • Strong hands.

  • I love how he just sits there pretending like they both believe he's just absentmindedly fiddling with the violin.

  • She can crush walnuts in her hand. Mental note "never let her near my crotch"

  • @Vaprick28 It doesn't require as much strength as you'd think. Just the correct application of force to the correct part of the nut's shell.

  • You know what I don't understand? If Sherlock was smart enough to smell Irene's tea for any kind of poison, how come he didn't do that with the wine she served in that scene at the hotel?

  • @BulletShootingGuys She was distracting him with her femmine wiles. XD

  • @BulletShootingGuys he trusted her the second time. And maby it mightve bben, that the tea cup was open, the bottle of whine was closed

  • irene adler is my kind of woman :)

  • Does anyone know what the name of the song that plays as Adler leaves?? It also plays as Holmes is following her. I couldn't find the sont in the Soundtrack

  • @92Ed92 i think its 'i never woke up in handcuffs before' just try to listen to it, that might be the one :)

  • My name it's Irene and I hate it! Couldn't my parents just pick Iris or anything better?

Anyways I love Irene Adler! Good point there lol doesn't mean you meet your mom for the first time.

  • @KailasProject Eye-Reen?

What? I like that name. A lot of Irenes that I met or seen are pretty. I hate my name... so I'd rather be called Al.

  • It's supposed to be pronounced "Ear-Rain-a," not "Eye-Reen."

  • @2wingo It is technically a proper noun. If you are well up in ur english grammar you will know that it can be pronounced any which way.

  • @dyingfoetus it is a greek name (Ειρηνη- Irini) so it is pronounced eye-reen.....

  • @dyingfoetus It is technically a german word. It's a pseudonym created by her when she was working as opera singer in Austria. So it should be pronounced Ih-reh-ne.

  • @2wingo It depends on which country you are from as well. Irene can be spelt the same way but said differently. I thought the original pronuciation was eye-ree-nee (or something like that) I have never once heard anyone say it was Ear-Rain...But also, I believe that because Irene is american, it's supposed to be pronounced Eye-Reen.

  • @2wingo Miss Adler is from New Jersey, so it is probably pronounced the American way.

  • @corrineransom Well that's how they pronounced it in the Jeremy Brett series, and that's good enough for me.

  • @2wingo Well if you want the German pronunciation you're right, but I need to tell you something: Sometimes the local pronunciation is used. My fist name is French, but I am German. In Germany I use the French pronunciation. I live in the US and here a different pronunciation is used (and many have trouble with the French one) so I introduce myself using the local pronunciation instead of getting upset about people who read and mispronounce my name and those who can't get it right at all.

  • @2wingo sionce it is suppossed to be a german name: ear-rain-a is wrong as well ;)

  • @2wingo that's Irena you twazock

  • I loved this movie, but frankly, Rachel McAdams is too young to convincingly play opposite Robert Downey Jr.

  • I don't really like the character of Irene in the movie. I prefer the book-Irene...

  • god RDJ played such a great Sherlock Holmes-so awesome n' real

  • If it hadn't been for the plot point of Watson's FUTURE marriage...this film would have fit quite nicely after "A Scandal In Bohemia", but some time before "The Final Problem" (where Holmes and Moriarity have their final duel).

  • Shall I ask chronologically or alphabetically? lol

  • How the hell did she crack those using only her hand? That's difficult.

  • @CreatorOfMadness She's from New Jersey

  • @Heroville Hahahahaha lol

  • @CreatorOfMadness It's a matter of squeezing them together at the correct point on the shell.

  • @2wingo That makes more sense than 'She's from New Jersey'. Thankyou. :)

  • @CreatorOfMadness That's also a valid explanation. I don't know if you've met many chicks from Jersey, but for the most part they're tough as nails and rough as a badger's ass.

  • @2wingo I wouldn't know. I'm not American, I'm English, so I don't get jokes about New Jersey. :) That's like me saying to you that people from Boston (there's a Boston in England) have all got webbed feet and expecting you to find it funny.

  • @CreatorOfMadness Good point.

  • I love the dog.

  • The didn't met here, the met in A Scandal in Bohemia that why he has his picture.

  • @martu253 Its just a title dude. I didnt write Holmes meets Adler for the first time!! I am aware of the scandal in bohemia. If u go to meet ur mom at the airport it doesnt mean you're meeting her for the first time!

  • @dyingfoetus - Careful with saying this was created by you and not having a disclaimer; you might get yourself into a copyright tangle and get this taken down.

  • @martus253 ... 'meets' has different meanings depending on how you use it. If you say 'sherlock meets with irene at his home' or 'sherlock meets with irene at the train station' or 'you went to meet your mom at the airport ' there is no implication that the persons involved have not met before. However if you simply say 'sherlock holmes meets irene adler' ... the meaning is they that they are being introduced to each other for the first time, and have not met before.

  • @martu253 Although the photo should be of her in her evening dress lol
