  • @PeggyTeachesChinese Hi peggy ur lessons are very helpful because u re enact the situation. So i really shows me the natural use of the vocab and sentences in different situations. my chinese is very simple i feel like i cant improve .my vocabulary is low it just most chinese peopel say the short form of the word so its sometimes hard to understand ,how can i speak like a natural chinese person hao sui bian de?wo xihuan

  • O wow! Its that creepy dude from Hero! XD

  • @GnosisKreas creepiness is the idea! :D

  • Peggy, you said 我也要去 and on the subtitles it said "Next time I wanna go too" but it means "I'm going too" you should of said 我也想去 - "I want to go too"

  • peggy ! thank you for the brilliant lesson ! shahrizan from KL, malaysia

  • @shahr12an Thanks for watching! Do check out my other videos too, hope you will like them! ;)

  • heya peggy, hope life is treating you well.

forgive what may be a very basic question, but i just wanted to inquire about the exact function of the particle "ne" . In which contexts do i need to use it and in which can i leave it out whilst asking a question (or for that matter, do i need to use a different particle like "ma")? I have heard that "ne" is solely used for follow up questions, but i'm really not sure.

Thanks in advance and (again) great job on the lessons.

  • so charming! what a perfect way of learning!

  • Hi Peggy!

I said "Ni / wo you3 shi4" to a few people and they were just confused. I know "shi" is "am, is", as in "Wo shi Peggy!" But my other Mandarin speaking friends have never heard of it to mean "busy, have an errand".

Could this be a regional thing?

  • @hooliganizm777 Ni hao, the two "shi4" you refer to here are two different characters with different meanings.

    "是 shi4" - am, is, are

    e.g. wo3 shi4 Peggy - i am Peggy.

    "事 shi4" - business, errand, matter

    e.g. wo3 you3 shi4. - i have business (to take care of).

I hope it helps! Thank you for watching. Please share too. :*)

  • @PeggyTeachesChinese oh that is interesting. just as in english there are words that have the same sound, but different spelling and meaning. e.g. theyre, there, their. xixi

it seems also ying3 has other meanings.

i think it is also used for a given name?

  • You're so kind ~

It's easy to understand what you say ... what you explain ... and what you teach ^__^.

    Nice job ~~~~~

  • @thinkofluv Thank you. Glad my Mandarin lessons help! ;)

  • Nice class! ^_^

How about doing a video like this also for advanced learners? XDD

If I had time I'd like to do like you but to teach portuguese ^_^

  • @vanekawaii Please check the playlist, "Intermediate Chinese" to learn more sentence patterns. :)

  • @PeggyTeachesChinese Thank you ^_^

  • Hi brother needs to chat a, Asian women busizz4me.info

  • @0:11 how do you say "you have a cute tummy?"

lol good job your explanations are very thorough and easy to understand.

  • xie xie ni, wo de piao liang lao shi...Peggy

  • I am becoming your big fan :)

Great language teaching I ever participated!

  • peggy you are such great actor here! i love that expression on your face when "he" asks you out. you look so disgusted! LOL

  • i love the detailed explanation!

just something want to ask is that when u say the word 'together' in chinese you say 'i4 qi3' and the 'y' sound seems to be silent.

so i wonder if it is the feature of...maybe Taiwan...or something?

  • @eitherofyou That's the pinyin system. :)

  • Girl's don't look at guy's feet guy's look at girl's feet girl's look at guy's teeth not feet.

  • @homchoy18 Is it a tongue twister? :P

  • @PeggyTeachesChinese it sure twisted my tongue...XP

  • @PeggyTeachesChinese what you mean tongue twister its true girls better have cute feet

You teach me and you the my example and the teacher so if I succsed I try on some other girl and let me see does it reall work. Oh yeah where you from?

  • @homchoy18 Very interesting question! I was born and raised in Taiwan. 100% Taiwanese. :)

  • I love this video! you look so cute I would ask you out too :)

  • @IzzualYamakawa Yay! :P

  • Luv your videos ^^

  • @popTaRtPlanEt Xie xie. :)

  • 嗨 星期这个词不是两次第一声吗?;) 你查一下字典吧

  • @terry2108 我很確定是一聲然後二聲 也查過了教育部國語字典 的確是xing1qi2 :)

    我在想可能是中國大陸的念法 因為我查簡體字典是念一聲一聲 xing1qi1

  • PEGGY你太好了!谢谢。可是我有一个问题。 Why do you use traditional characters instead of simplified? Just curious, thanks.

  • @jesuis88

    Ni hao,

Because I live in Taiwan and we use traditional characters in Taiwan. :*)

  • Traditional characters have a lot more meaning, and they are much more elegant.

  • lao shu ai da mi

  • @alwinsaludes shenme?

  • I like your video very much. I can learn Chinese here. I wish I could learn more here. Thanks.:)

  • @OHS20080405 Xie xie.

  • so I know normally you would use xing qi for week so.. when would you use li bai? xie xie oh!

  • Yes, both of them are commonly used. :)

  • Peggy, 谢谢你。我喜欢你的课。可是,为什么你用繁体字?你是从香港来吗?

Oh, and also... If possible, please try to improve the audio quality in future videos by putting the microphone closer to you. It sounds like the microphone is far away from you when you are speaking, which makes it harder for us students to hear your pronunciation.

Great video otherwise. Keep them coming! :)

  • 我是台灣人, 台灣使用繁體字。:)

We've got a better microphone now, I'm actually editing a new lesson, so a better audio quality is coming up soon, maybe today! :D

  • Tai pan le ke de wo de lao shi !

  • You can begin from the older videos as I started from the basics.

This video covers a lot of what I have taught in previous videos too. :)

    Jia You! :D

  • Oh I take it back - the subtitles come later!
