@PeggyTeachesChinese Hi peggy ur lessons are very helpful because u re enact the situation. So i really shows me the natural use of the vocab and sentences in different situations. my chinese is very simple i feel like i cant improve .my vocabulary is low it just most chinese peopel say the short form of the word so its sometimes hard to understand ,how can i speak like a natural chinese person hao sui bian de?wo xihuan
Peggy, you said 我也要去 and on the subtitles it said "Next time I wanna go too" but it means "I'm going too" you should of said 我也想去 - "I want to go too"
forgive what may be a very basic question, but i just wanted to inquire about the exact function of the particle "ne" . In which contexts do i need to use it and in which can i leave it out whilst asking a question (or for that matter, do i need to use a different particle like "ma")? I have heard that "ne" is solely used for follow up questions, but i'm really not sure.
Thanks in advance and (again) great job on the lessons.

@PeggyTeachesChinese oh that is interesting. just as in english there are words that have the same sound, but different spelling and meaning. e.g. theyre, there, their. xixi
@PeggyTeachesChinese pEGGIE ARE YOU CHINESE? Fully y don't look it but you do look alright why don't you teach me Mandarine so I can pick you up LOL I do speak Cantonese though do you? You teach me and you the my example and the teacher so if I succsed I try on some other girl and let me see does it reall work. Oh yeah where you from?
Oh, and also... If possible, please try to improve the audio quality in future videos by putting the microphone closer to you. It sounds like the microphone is far away from you when you are speaking, which makes it harder for us students to hear your pronunciation.
oh my gosh! :) this really cool...this is my first time watching your videos and i'm very grateful...xiexie i'm subscribed to others but they're using simplified. i'm learning traditional so this will really help my listening skills. your heavensent :)
i really love your videos! you really help me with my listening skills and taiwan seems so cool! i've been learning chinese since 2007 by myself and its kind of hard because i only know simplified. but now you can help me with tradtiotional hanzi and you can help me practice for hanyu shuiping kaoshi!!!
hehe this is very funny and useful. I really like your videos. And I wish I could get my chroma key as good as you! I can't seem to get it very good, but yours is perfect!
Gosh that could be my feet... I better stick with my teaching style and not to show my feet... Thanks though, different approach but very entertaining :D 5/5!

Hi Peggy!
I said "Ni / wo you3 shi4" to a few people and they were just confused. I know "shi" is "am, is", as in "Wo shi Peggy!" But my other Mandarin speaking friends have never heard of it to mean "busy, have an errand".
Could this be a regional thing?
hooliganizm777 1 year ago
@hooliganizm777 Ni hao, the two "shi4" you refer to here are two different characters with different meanings.
"是 shi4" - am, is, are
e.g. wo3 shi4 Peggy - i am Peggy.
"事 shi4" - business, errand, matter
e.g. wo3 you3 shi4. - i have business (to take care of).
I hope it helps! Thank you for watching. Please share too. :*)

@PeggyTeachesChinese oh that is interesting. just as in english there are words that have the same sound, but different spelling and meaning. e.g. theyre, there, their. xixi

i love the detailed explanation!
just something want to ask is that when u say the word 'together' in chinese you say 'i4 qi3' and the 'y' sound seems to be silent.
so i wonder if it is the feature of...maybe Taiwan...or something?
