The American system died back around 1948 thats when the military industrial congressional complex put the nail in the coffin of creative thinking. Corporations run it now. They sell books like 1984 which people buy and read and then think they know something. Thats all fake. Zappa ended up being fake also. He did not get at real alternative and was never a real social activist cept for maybe his first work... Freak Out. After that he was just a failed commercial artist.
