another important thing for me is gearing. especially with 300-400hp cars. the ratios must be right and you must be in the right gear at all times to keep that little ricer screamin sideways.

correct... you can only win it once. so hold on to it. if you have another memory card you should buy a couple SS 86 off yourself.

leave the suspension as it is on that car. add power (all of it). follow my notes below.

it has excellent brakes, grip and turn in. my fastest laps with this car MUST involve drifting. as in this car goes faster drifting.

some of the RACE cars (LM race cars, oreca viper, corvette c5r, JGTC cars) are very grippy by nature and you may want to use simulation tires (as normal are not available for these cars)... i still use sports tires and just drift really fast with maximum power. banzai!

i can drift like that in gt3 (maybe even better.)... it's more about learning to drift than car setup. max power. max tranny upgrades. 2 way lsd. semi racing suspension (left alone). normal tires. DO NOT reduce weight, seems to make the cars twitchy and nervous for drifting.

my thumb is rapidly modulating pressure on the x button. maintaining just the right amount of wheelspin.

and DONT use the dpad use the joystick.. joystick reacts noticeably quicker for better countersteering.

Anyone who is having trouble with drifting a little bit of advice, a car with 4WD, AWD, or FF handling settings doesn't actually "drift" the back tires just drag, only an FR like an RX-7 or a sprinter trueno actually slides the back tires not drag them. Just my two cents of experience and knowledge.

the easiest car for drift(in my opinion) is the vertigo race car...try drifting with that car just by adding a turbo.the one that will boost the hp up to 700+sth.....and no other tune.....(sorry if my english are #$%^ )..good luck...

the most basic and easiest way to accomplish drifts like these is to turn off tcs, and use the normal street tires, and turn the downforce (for the rear) all the way down so there is none. the less the car holds the road the more likely it is to drift

It alot different drifting in Gt4 -> Gt5 then this. Its much harder. Plus if you have a wheel your not gonna be doing as dramatic drifts as someone with a controller. You have to account for turning the wheel instead of flicking a stick.

I do recommend getting GT5 (ps3) and a seat/wheel/shifter though. Its awesome!

I use a RX7-Rz. Pretty well built up 409HP. Stage 1 Turbo, Full suspension, Full Transmission, Ect. If you really want the thing to get Sideways, Turn the Stability Management all the way down, and TCS to 1 " better traction off the line, better speed ". I use Sports tires in the front for front grip and Sim tires in the back. Ride height down to 100mm, and spring rate for front 9.0kgf and for the back 6.9kgf.

Also the torque settings have to be changed. Initial torque set to 20 in the rear, Accel 45, Decel 25. Gear Ratio set to Lv.31. If I have the time to I will put a video up soon.

No you dont hold the hand break usually, if you're using sim tires. The gas will kick the car for you depending on how much you give it. If it helps swap the gas and brake controls to the right thumb stick. Stay is he power band though (keep your rpms up) to keep the drift.

1. Manual Shift

2. When coming to a turn, release gas then press clutch following to a hand brake, turning in.

3. When turning in, counter turn and then release clutch and THEN press gas.

4. Then just counter turn all the way.

thats because your Car one, has too much grip, simulation tires can fix this.. this should fix your bogs down and stops problem.. second when ever you hit the gas the drift straightens out, you need more horsepower to keep ur car semi out of control.

not bad my favourite car is the s14 i found that with the diff settings if you have the dec set to the same as the acc you can get the back end way out and still get it to pull back with ot spining around on youalso i found that if the back end starts to come around drop it down a gear or two and it will also pull the back end in line.
