They are both good singers. Many just does a better job at Rapunzel's role because she sounds more innocent. BUT, this girl does an awesome job at singing as well.

Punzel is a very light nieve character and using a full belt and lowering the tone, which she does on her parts, makes it lose that young just discovered love feeling that makes this song so very very amazing.
This girl is singing live and i think she sounds young and lovely! Jodi Benson sang Ariel the Mermaid, Lea Salonga sang Mulan and many other brilliant Broadway stars have sung characters younger than their ages and made those characters and themselves legends.

Actually, no. I completely DISAGREE with maggiebj1989, it can be very difficult to sing live with Stage fright. So, if you have had sooo much experience you would know that. Wow. What is with all the hate? I feel like I listened to something completely different than everyone else. The audio quality is crappy but the performers far from. I don't hear any flatness. You guys DO know this is a live performance not a cartoon, right? They only get ONE chance in this UNO ICHI ONE! So what if they don't sound exactly like the cartoon? That is a good thing. A character can be taken many ways. Look at the difference between the Broadway and Cartoon Ursula. They two completely different characters. Some things work better on the stage, and some things work better on the screen. Either way, this performance was great.

They have really great voices, but they're voices are trained for musical theatre, while the original song is much more pop. chill out people...they are trained broadway singers in a live show...it's not gonna sound like mandy f'in moore....that doesn't mean they are bad. a lot of the shows disney do live on the ships and park have very well trained broadway type singers....not the pop stars they use for their movies
being a choir kid I know how singing live can be. they did a pretty damn good job :/ you know how hard it is to sing and move and under all those hot freaken lights?! geebus! YOU try doing THAT and in COSTUME and MAKEUP!
@ISuperGenXI I've done over a dozen plays and musicals...it's really not that bad. Unless you're doing something with prosthetics like Phantom of the Opera or Beauty and the Beast, you don't even notice it.
No, the problem is, is that Moore and Levi have very pop voices! These two have extremely well trained music theater/ classical voices! Their voices are beautiful! But they didn't sing it properly for this song! It doesn't mean they don't have good voices though!

I saw this show live while on the Disney Dream (beautiful boat by the way) and I fell in love. Being actually there is much better than this recording, you're part of the magic!!! I loved it and the other singers were amazing as well. When they were in the gondola it was just magical and the actual princess was beautiful. The male actor wasn't too shabby either. But like I said beautiful show, beautiful song, and beautiful actors. <3
These singers are better trained than the ones in the movie, and have fuller voices; I find Mandy Moore's voice airy and lacking. The only aspect(s) that's noticeably "off" is that the tempo is a bit fast, and maybe Rapunzel is scooping her notes a bit too much. I don't understand the fuss in calling them BAD, though--the singing in the movie is mediocre and badly supported in comparison.

She'd make a good Belle. But, she sounds too mature for the bright-eyed and adorable Rapunzel. And just my opinion, Flynn would be a much sexier as a cartoon character if he had a lower voice. LOL.

They have really great voices, but they're voices are trained for musical theatre, while the original song is much more pop. Of course it's going to sound a little weird, they're entirely different types of songs! Considering the circumstances I think they did awesome! Plus, it's really not easy to sing live, speaking from experience.

chill out people...they are trained broadway singers in a live show...it's not gonna sound like mandy f'in moore....that doesn't mean they are bad. a lot of the shows disney do live on the ships and park have very well trained broadway type singers....not the pop stars they use for their movies

being a choir kid I know how singing live can be. they did a pretty damn good job :/ you know how hard it is to sing and move and under all those hot freaken lights?! geebus! YOU try doing THAT and in COSTUME and MAKEUP!

@ISuperGenXI I've done over a dozen plays and musicals...it's really not that bad. Unless you're doing something with prosthetics like Phantom of the Opera or Beauty and the Beast, you don't even notice it.

No, the problem is, is that Moore and Levi have very pop voices! These two have extremely well trained music theater/ classical voices! Their voices are beautiful! But they didn't sing it properly for this song! It doesn't mean they don't have good voices though!

I thought it was really good, the only bad (not exactly bad) thing is that the tempo was faster and how they portrayed the song was different (idk how to describe it, maybe more happy like than it should have or there wasn't a lot of character)

I saw this show live while on the Disney Dream (beautiful boat by the way) and I fell in love. Being actually there is much better than this recording, you're part of the magic!!! I loved it and the other singers were amazing as well. When they were in the gondola it was just magical and the actual princess was beautiful. The male actor wasn't too shabby either. But like I said beautiful show, beautiful song, and beautiful actors. <3

These singers are better trained than the ones in the movie, and have fuller voices; I find Mandy Moore's voice airy and lacking. The only aspect(s) that's noticeably "off" is that the tempo is a bit fast, and maybe Rapunzel is scooping her notes a bit too much. I don't understand the fuss in calling them BAD, though--the singing in the movie is mediocre and badly supported in comparison.
