@5ltd hey christina! Im the same age as you but im a technique dancer but i still look up to you! So did you train most of your life at MDP? I dance at the Charlotte School of Ballet in North Carolina and I do ballet, tap, jazz, pointe and hiphop there [: Hopefully i will be able to post more vids of me dancing (: i'll try to get as many as I can and do you have a facebook?? i would love to ask you some more questions:)

@lifedancer100 I totally agree with you about ballet - it is SO important!! This video was from when she was 10 - she is 12 now and worked very hard on her ballet last year. She got some new coaches and increased her training a lot and it really worked! During her 11 year old year she won the World Ballet Competition and the Hope Award at the YAGP San Diego, as well as spent her 3rd summer with American Ballet Theater where she was placed in the Indigo (highest) level. She did great - she competed at the Los Angeles Regional, made the top 12 and was invited to the New York City finals (they had to get a score of 95 or higher) She loved the NYC finals - I think there were dancers from 30 countries there . - a great experience! She's going to try it again this season.

I think who ever created that solo should take out a few turns and add more kicks... i can see that she has a talent turning. She should add more kicks and leaps and fan kicks.... maybe a switch leap

Thanks! I love ballet, it takes a lot of pratice, but I like how ballet technique is important in all kinds of dancing. I get to go to New York pretty soon to study with American Ballet Theater for their summer intensive. I'm excited!!

Hi - thanks! She learned the 5 solos but only did the song a few times and the ballet was mainly for the YAGP ballet competition, She just alternated which ones she would compete, she did all 5 at KAR because they don't have a limit on the number of solos you can compete, but most competitions limit it to 2 or 3. She is doing the ballet one more time in July, then I will post it as it has changed a bit over the season. Thanks for the nice comments!

These are just small samples from the solos she did at this competition. I probably did edit too many of the turns from some of the dances in -- I think turns are pretty. There was a lot more to each dance than is in this 4 min video, but I tried to get other moves too -- penchees, arabesques, battements, grand jetes, floorwork, transitions, Italian fouettes, tap moves and singing -- for variety.
