I have CS5 and this does not work. I try using the bone tool on each symbol and it just disappears. What I get out it, it always looks for another symbol to connect to. I believe this can only work if you have each part split up even further then what you are showing. Like the leg needs to be split up into its parts as separate symbols. (i.e. upper leg, lower leg, and foot.) If you did this already, you really need to say that in the video..

can you put bone on symbols? eg. upper arm symbol attach it to a lower arm symbol. so that you can replace the look of the symbols while a bone is attached to it. and can you still ease in and out on each tween? right now i'm just using cs3 for my animation but seeing this tutorial makes me want to upgrade to cs5 hehe.

Repetition in a tutorial is almost always bad. Skipping ahead after showing the technique once or twice (eg. on an arm and a leg) gives you more time to explain how other things work or simply makes the tutorial shorter. Saving time for both you and the user. Otherwise nice job on your first tutorial.

There are 4 options for that:

A portable Flash CS4 on TPB (Which doesn't work on Windows 7)

A portable Flash CS5 that flashes an annoying message every few minutes but still works almost perfectly (which I uploaded to Mediafire, just go to devils-shadow and search for "flash portable")

Install-able versions of the above 2 (which are a bit more of a headache but have more features than portable versions)

Or, a torrent of Flash Professional CS5.5 (Which can be found on TPB).

Question about flash cs5, is there any way to turn off auto smooth .when doing line drawings? Every time I have a nice line auto smooth goes and F**ks it up. One moore thing is there a way to smooth your line manually? Please answer quickly(not to be rude) as I only have the trial version.

nice tutorial, but i felt that u were really really slow, i think it could have been taught in 2 minutes rather than 9 and a half, perhaps after you used the bone tool for the first arm, you could have fast forwarded the other three, or fast forwarded many other parts of the video.

This was so helpful. My first time using the bone tool. That is an amazing tool!  I followed this tutorial, but I overshot the mark and added too many frames. Unfortunately, I can't figure out how to remove only the extra frames on the armature timelines (they seem to behave differently).
