  • The funny thing is that Tolkien was always uncomfortable with the always chaotic evil orcs and trolls because he was very much disturbed by racial stereotyping going on at the time (and we all know how badly that racism turned out back in the 30s and 40s).

It's cool that Pratchett had what sounds like my exact job, with my exact benefits of ignoring overdue fees.

  • Two men. One hairdresser.

  • @TreyRoque AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA LMAO DUDE U MADE ME ROFL I DIDN'T EVEN THINK ABOUT THAT UNTIL YOU SAID SOMETHING ROFLMAO XD

  • Haha. So it turns out Pratchett is a fa/tg/uy. Awesome.

  • @LordOmberus He doesn't look fat to me.

  • @Aphradonis

"Fa/tg/uy" is a term of endearment used on 4chan's /tg/ board for fellow gamers.

I said it because of the inordinate fondness he seems to have for the "Evil" races of Tolkien, which comes up a lot in games like DnD.

  • fascinating stuff.

  • It's interesting that he likens himself, in a way, to Lupine Wonse in Guards! Guards! As the one who did the thinking to keep in with the more physically minded children.

Ironically enough, Terry's comments about reading LOTR in one sitting is exactly what I tend to do with his books.

Respect to Terry, not just for his writing, but for his deep, if cynical, understanding of humanity in all it's forms :)

  • lol the elves were up to something

  • picnhe mano n

  • terry pratchett I'm one of your biggest fans!

  • Hmm... so maybe my tendency to write fanfiction doesn't necessarily mean I won't be able to write original stories.

    Love PTerry!
