you can include the top string in the a minor chord, it would just put it in second inversion, meaning the 5th of the chord is in the bass

you know when you count the strings the bottom is acctually the top so u count from the bottom up .u were doing it wrong

@gunsnroses0987 it usually means minor because when its major they'll usually spell it out.

@gunsnroses0987 any note with an "m" next to it means minor. major notes are by themselves (for instance: A, B, C...etc) Those are all major. Minor would be Am, Bm, Cm...etc. I'm sure you know this by now, but incase not I thought I'd help you out.
