I think the caracters worked so good in the story than mosf of us had dreamed with Sarah and Jareth as a romantic couple. I mean we really wanted they finished in love each other.

Oh how I wish someone would take it upon themselves to make a sequel. We certainly have enough fans. The characters would have to look a bit different, but personally I think it would be worth it.
