The thing I like most about this movie is, if you've ever been in love with someone but for whatever reason they're not available, it perfectly captures the angst and longing and determination to do anything to be with them even if it makes you look stupid.

im stuck between getting an MGB roadster or an Alfa 2000 spyder. I like that the MGB is inexpensive but still sexy but the Alfa is slightly more expensive but uber classy

If the body of the Alfa is good, there is no match. The MGB is a pretty car, but the Alfa Spider Veloce is another league in any respect ( except spares avalaibility )

my problem is, though, that im not built like an italian. I've heard from friends that the interior is made for short legs and long arms, and as i recall Dustin Hoffman is quite short

I am 1.80 cm tall and feel comfortable in my Duetto. Don't forget that the MGB has a problem with the windscreen, that is low and give some problems to tall people ( they are have often the upper rail at eye level or even find themselves looking the road from above the windscreen ). Obviously if possible the best thing to do should be try the driving position by yourself on both cars, perhaps partecipating at some classic car meeting.
