I think the issue with the episode was that it lacked a balanced look at the options of bringing a life into the world.
It is also important to note that a big concern was that the world population was growing out of control , this in part has come true as the US population has increased by 50% since the time of this episode and world population has doubled.
But I think that if nothing else , things are better now that at least most shows look at the various options when pregnant.
I love Bea Arthur! What a talent she was! It seems that USA was more liberal in the 70's and then became more conservative in the 80's again! And then first now in the 00's became more honest and liberal again.

If you don't agree, so be it, but I don't think that you should be saying it as though it's fact. this is a beautiful episode... "Murder" or not - birth control and abortion NEED to be legal and accessible for everyone. Ask yourself: Would you go down to the orphanage and adopt a couple of them? No, most people wouldn't. The point is that instead of giving the system more children who will live their lives confused, scared, alone and possibly not even make it; stuff like this needs to be there for everyone and anyone. Don't like it? Don't do it... It's quite simple.
