  • I don't care about who is better between Bruce and Paul, I think that both are amazing, that's all.

  • i saw Paul Di anno at this club called El corazon in washington about a year or so ago, this song made everyone just explode it was amazing!

  • Nah...not mad. They got rid of Paul for a reason. Bruce has a better voice. I saw Maiden during Piece of Mind...The band was tight and Bruce's voice was GREAT. Today Paul's voice, as sometimes expected...weaker. Bruce's voice today is still strong. That's all.

  • @09terrafirma Bruce might have a better and more trained voice, but Di'Anno's singing style is undefeatable.. that punkish way of singing fit perfectly with Maiden's music at the time. They had to change their music style in order to fit Dickinson's.

Don't get me wrong, I like the powerful voice Bruce has, but man, Di'Anno's voice was something else!

  • Paul's voice sucks worse today than it did then. Thanks Bruce!

  • @09terrafirma awww u mad brah?

  • well fuck i cut and paste the first message and put it on the wrong video, the message should be for the video with the 2011 remix version from dianno..

  • i went and saw maiden at the o2 about 3 months ago now and it was brilliant, but i would have much rather gone to this show

  • Saw the Di'anno line up blow Priest off the stage at the Hammy Odeon - circa 1981 /2 I'd think. One of the best concerts I've ever seen. Never seen them with Bruce but glad I saw this line up. Ears still ringing now :-)

  • This is the real Maiden!!!!

  • @MrChrisbaum1967 YEAH,THIS IS THE REAL IRON MAIDEN!!!!!

  • Um puta som que me leva a minha infancia!

  • Thank God I saw these guys in 1980. My favorite year in Metal's history.

  • This is like the splitting of the atom.Astounding!

    Up the Irons From Canada!

  • the truth of the matter is, without Bruce Dickenson, nobody outside of east London England would have heard of this band. we all bought Number of the Beast in 1982 when we were 13 years old, and while waiting for Piece of Mind, we went looking for anything and everything with the red and white Iron Maiden logo on it. which led us to buy the first 2 albums, and to discover the amazing Paul Dianno. without Number of the Beast making Maiden international supertstars, i would have never heard him.

  • @loknloll not true. I bought the first two albums and was totally pissed when I heard that Bruce was taking over as the new singer. Hated it.

  • @TheCozybear65 i'm from Canada, and as much as i love the first 2 maiden albums (i've listened to those 2 more than any others in the past 30 years, much more), you are the first person i have ever actually heard say they heard of maiden before number of the beast. so either you must be from england, or you're a mad old school metal fan from way back. and likely older than me! i'm 42... cheers brother.

  • @loknloll Well, There's a whole shitload of us actually. All my friends went the same route. We would skip school, buy some beer ,play pool at my buddy's place and crank the Iron Maiden we knew at the time ; that being the great music of Paul Di'Anno's Iron Maiden. This was our ritual, even after Dickenson took over. It was just the first two albums, though I wouldn't miss any of their live performances after Paul's departure. And yes, I did see them in England, thanks to a cousin living there.

  • @TheCozybear65 nice channel. i just subscribed to you. not something i often do. but dyed in the wool metalheads are a rare commodity these days... speak soon. i can't believe how fortunate you've been to see so many bands. randy and ozzy must've been a trip. i was in grade seven when that circus rolled into town, and my ma said 'hell, no...'

  • @loknloll Thanks man. You've got some cool vids of randy. I guess i was lucky to have older friends in my teens who i'd cruise downtown with, listening to some early metal. loved being young at the birth of Heavy Metal. 79-83 were the best. Still pretty much underground then, as you know. At thirteen, I was as obsessed with Ozzy as most kids were with Gene Simmons, so yeah, I wouldn't have missed Randy. My one friend was on top of the scene. I just went where he went. Didn't miss much. Cheers!

  • @loknloll the 1st 2 maiden albums had more of a crossover sound with punk an metal fans, which the band had the best of both worlds and a more diverse audience.paul is the better,of 2 main singers.

  • Wow. Seeing this old vid, so raw, so young, at the forefront of the new metal movement, this is what it was all about. Nothing wrong with Bruce and what Maiden became, but before the huge fame and elaborate shows, this truly is "the shit"

  • paul looks hammered.

  • @rockadio8710 He probably was. Read his book "The Beast". Very interesting.

  • IRON MAIDEN "KICKS ASS "NO MATTER WHO IS IN THEIR LINEUP,STEVE HARRIS STARTED SOMETHING BIG."IRON MAIDEN"!!!!!!!!!!

  • I saw this, the birth of Heavy Metal

  • Listen to the old amps, to the old guitars, for me, is like an orgasm.

  • I listened to at least 100.000 different songs during the last 30+ years. This is one of my all time faves. Thanx to these guys for writing this. Hell...My kids will never know nor understand what i feel when i remember this time and this song.

  • The old stuff is the shit. A lot of raw attitude.

  • Paul is on druuuuugzzz ;d yeaaah!

  • If only Steve would release more rare early stuff. Bremen is one. Wonder what else he has. Can the latest Bruce whiny stuff and give us more early concerts, Harris!

  • MrWifeaggro, закрой своё поганое ебало. Иди нахуй слушать свой рэп. Я ебал твою мать.

  • Fuckin punk rock

  • @MrWifeaggro It's not a punk metal lol. SU please.

  • I THINK THAT MAIDEN SHOULD DO AN "OLD SCHOOL" TOUR WITH DI ANNO AND STRATTON...

  • @TheFarofylax dont forget mr clive burr!!!

  • @metalmulisha0143 unfortunatelly mr clive burr can't play the drums anymore...he has MS...:(

  • there is something special about the first 2 albums...i love Bruce and he is an awesome singer...but when i first heard prowler...remember tomorrow....then killers came out...omg!..shit blew me away!!!!!!!!!!

  • Iron maiden is iron maiden, it consists of five (or six depending on when) members and they all contribute to it, not just a single member.

  • gotta love how the club has ONE spotlight shining on the stage!

  • this is a really good bootleg. :)

  • Drum intro got copied by Katy Perry - I kissed a girl^^ OK, it's a quite easy rhythm.

And fuck the people who made it, that I can't watch loads of songs in studio versions, wether Maiden or whoever!

  • i would have given my wife to be there for 1 night

  • God bless 'em! Wonder if they had any idea how many people they would make happy?

  • bellissimo!!!

  • im runnin' free yeah

  • D'iano years is the IRON MAIDEN.

  • lol 1980...the Camera recording this must be half the size of the room they are in lmao

  • gracias Ederdrim por el video

  • his is my bands nx cover!! yeeessssss!!! i can fuckin wait to belt his baby out!!!lol!!!

  • Where is this video live recorded

  • @1217rcc -- Looks like one of the home vids recorded at the Ruskin Arms in the East End. Don't think it's the Marquee or The Bandwagon, but I could be wrong. Cheers=bloozblasterX=

  • Love him or hate him, DiAnno will always be their original singer.

  • My favorite early Maiden song. Thanks for posting! I love the raw quality of this!

  • why does everyone in here think bruce shouldn't be with maiden right now?ever heard of number of the beast?powerslave?aches high?fear of the fucking dark?seventh son of the seventh son? and so many other maiden songs that were successfull as fucking fuck!! wtf ppl ok, dianno was awesome with maiden, and have so many fucking good songs but hell just look at iron maiden now and what they have accomplished, they wouldnt have done that without bruce!

  • @CallebAntichrist you don't know what ur talking about, STEVE HARRIS IS IRON MAIDEN!

  • @bigedz80 Can't argue with that, it's true:)

  • God this song is fucking amazing!!!

  • LONG ROCK IRON MAIDEN

HEY i also have a iron maiden tribute vid:

    naruto tribute-iron maiden

  • 30 years ago... and still are awsome

  • Di'anno really was the best singer for Maiden. Bruce now sounds dated and Paul sounds current. Bring back Paul!!

  • i saw them at the manchester apollo in 1980...they were fuckin brill...can't believe it's 30 years ago

  • nice to hear those not so perfect dual guitar solo's. those tiny mistakes make this better than maiden now. Nowadays they're still great but to pefect :P

  • i prefer this line up coz you can relate to it.with dickinson its a bit over the top to relate to.still fuckin brilliant tho

  • iron maiden hasta la muerte!!!!

  • They were so heavy!

  • The first two Maiden albums are my very favorite metal albums of all time (except for Charlot!)

  • Thanks for making me feel 16 again. What a scene !!!

  • clive burr rules!!!

  • wish i could have seen this lineup live...

  • I like ALL Iron Maiden line-ups

but my favorite was Steve Harris, Dave Murray, Clive Burr, Paul Di' Anno, and Dennis Straton

Wish I could have seen them with that line-up, but I was born in 1995, so my probabilities of seeing a show in 1980 were really low haha

  • amazing paul you are the best fucking man you are the best

  • Saw them three times with Paul as their frontman...He rocks..

  • That harmonized lead at 2:28 gives me goosebumps every time!

Up the Irons from Boston \m/

  • This is music history. Too bad Clive, Dennis and Paul couldn´t make it in Maiden longer, they were all great.

  • Damn the direction metal took after Paul left Iron Maiden. Damn heavy and speed metal, , damn american hard rock and damn GLAM!

    Damn it all to HELL!

  • why damn heavy and speed?

  • I got carried away, but the reason would be lack of fiber.

  • Paul is the man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Paul is more of a punk singer but Bruce is more of a metal singer, I like em both a lot since maiden is my favorite band ever. But Bruce is a better frontman than Paul.

  • of course he´s more punk singer. even his look is punk

  • paul the Best!!!!

  • Now after about 30 years we know it: The early 1980´s wa the best time of Metal

  • i really do wonder why there arnt many great metal artist anymore other than the classics like maiden

  • Bruce and Paul are so different both great front men. Paul has more attitude I find. Bruce has great vocals

  • i love bruce, but DiAnno is the best singer Iron Maiden ever had too bad he couldnt keep the drugs on the dl

  • Wow maiden in is first moment. Dianno really a natural metal singer.

  • ....it's true, but now he sound's like metal-core.....

i was on his concert in zagreb........too bad!!

  • @grasdubids I think you meant to say more of a punk singer, despite Maiden being metal; they had a more punk like influence when they started.

  • DIANNO IS BEST.

  • I likeBruce dickinson but this is class

  • were di u get all these vids of iron maiden

  • Its from one of their dvds. "The Early days Pt. 1". Im still waiting for Pt 2 to come out X) bought it 3 years ago (I think)

  • part 2 is on the live after death dvd

  • up the irons from MEXICO!!!!

  • Favorite band ever (sorry black sabbath!!!!) wether its with bruce or paul

  • sabbath u mean pries

  • Iron Fucking Maiden

  • CHE BELLOOOOOOOO PAUL

  • man this song is so fucking good

  • Cool video !

They seem like they're really into it.

  • I totally love this song and the band. This is so amazing, one of the first recorded videos with Iron Maiden. Steve Harris, Dave Murray, Clive Burr, Paul Di Anno, and Dennis Stratton are all geniuses. This is the best band ever, they have had so many great member, guitarists as well as singers and drummers. They are way above 50 years old and still rock the pants out of every band out there. Stop arguing about who´s best out of Paul and Bruce, both are so damn good.

  • i agree man people keep bitchin which one is better but, their both badass!! they sound different from each other but their both special in their own way!! paul kicks ass!! and so does dickinson!! UP THE IRONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @NisseEricsson I agree with you about Paul and Bruce both being great singers. They each have a style all thier own. In the early days, Maiden in my opinion was based more on real life situations and the music was more raw. When Bruce joined they started to explore more otherworldly themes. Both singers are great. Some of my favorite songs are on the 1st 2 albums.

  • /why is he so tired??

  • try to sing aces high and then tell me why!!

  • Paul Di'anno never sung Aces High.

  • tired because of that killer show... and he's probably cracked as well cos he was on cocaine in those times:-??

  • the first two albums are terrfic but bruce made maiden better imo.

  • personally i think the first two albums r the best

  • yes 100% and maiden in japan ;-)

  • listen to soap797

  • Comment removed

  • all you people in these arguments bout whos better just shut up and listen to the song

  • I love Em' both Paul and Bruce,, but this is one of my favorite Maiden songs, along with Phantom of the opera, check that out on Utube that got a great one on that song.

  • funny you mentioned that song, i'm currently listening to it right now!

  • Dianno > Dickinson

"Killers" > Any other Maiden album

If Dickinson sang "I'm gonna kick your ass," it would sound nice and operatic, but if Dianno sang "I'm gonna kick your ass," you'd fucking believe it.

  • haa haaaa, I totally agree and that is the funniest I've ever heard it put.

  • The time that Di'anno spent in maiden doesn't matter, his voice, and the musics in his time is much better than Dickinson's.

You don't know anything about vocals.

  • Oh ok , lets put it this way.90% of the metal world thinks that dickinsons voice is one of the best and your saying that diano is better than him.You are one of the many new punks that doesnt understand a shit and speaks in public. What the fuck do you understand 'bout vocals?

  • you don't know what you're talking about...nuff said

  • Stop getting into youtube arguments, you retards. They're both good singers, now shut the fuck up and enjoy the song.

  • Bruce Dickinson is a great singer! But come on Paul di'anno is the best!

  • damn,,, loosers!!!

i love Bruce Dickinson, and I love Paul, but come on, the 2 first albums were great, but bruce are better on: the singing, frontman, concert man, talking and everything, paul had to quit because he did drugs, had to cancel alot of concert because he didn't want to go on them or play that day. and bruce still got his voice, paul lost it. but they both are maiden, but only with the rest of the band, but bayley were the biggest mistake of all time... peace

  • PAUL!

  • y does everyone say paul is better or bruce is better or clive is better or nicko is better, there all fuking iron maiden arent they?? therefore they all deserve respect and they all fuking pwned.

  • Paul DiAnno WAS great in early 80's, Clive WAS great on drums but the strong voice just disappeared long time ago and Clive got sick. Nicko is great but I like to listen Clive Burr.

  • Clive was great.Nicko is good but...Listen to Clive!!!He fucking ruled...

  • @RJJowl I totally agree.

  • I agree that bruce is a lot better but Paul fit in for what the first 2 albums represented. Paul was more of a punk front man and I do like him singing the early stuff too. Iron Maiden fan till the day I die

  • Why talk about who the "best" vocalist was? Bruce is clearly one of the best vocalists in the world, and Paul's not even close. You should be discussing who "fitted" best.

  • Why is he one of the "best".

Bruce sounded old even when he just started out, and he is cheesey and theatrical.

he may be good but idk, I like later iron maiden for the instrumental aspect, bruce does annoy me a bit.

  • Agree...

  • PAUL ES ESMEJOR VOCAL DE IRON MAIDEN,

  • paul a fucking cool guy fits with those kind of songs perfect.

  • bruce is better no question. but pauls voice seems to fit the songs of the early maiden days a little better. a perfect example is murders in the rue morgue

  • Exactly.

  • i think paul was bettere then bruce...do you agree???

  • DAMN! Dave Murray was a fuckin' headbanger back in the early days! YEAH! and they still have the same exciting energy now as they did then. IRON MAIDEN FOREVER! UP THE FUCKIN' IRONS!

  • FUCK BRUCE! PAUL WAS THE MAN!

  • was ? he isnt ? :-)

  • bruce is well better

  • @younghatter yes,but maiden is less metal now.Sorry,Paul's voice,was made of raw power,soul and passion...and if that's not metal i don't know what is!

    Go Paul!

  • Old maiden had the same fuck you as punk but they played better! Ive loved old maiden for goin on 26 years now! i just turned 36. i love the old days of buyin records and i loved maiden records. and number of the beast was the fuckin shit!!!

  • Thanks for this video mate. Good to see that line-up again. Dickinson may be a great singer, very clever and good at fencing but Di'anno is Maiden to me. Burr and Stratton too; they give the band that East London credibility, and the music that urgency. Yeah, supergroups earn the big bucks, but metal's about earthiness

  • Paul have his own way to sing when he was in Maiden.

He is a very good singer and even out of Maiden he has value.

Of course Bruce is a wonderful singer and he is a identity of Maiden starting at The Number of The Beast.

  • dianno was awesome in battlezone,i wish there was footage of their stuff on here

  • me too i have both cds and they rock

  • proprio bello

  • Kick the Dick!!!!

  • Ow.

  • Ow. ?

  • Paul Di'anno is an awesome singer, but his attitude is not nice at all.

  • Thx, mate, for 3.30, I was 15 again!!

  • dude is stratton -.-

  • Dianno and

    Clive Burr

    is Maiden

  • MA KE CAZZO DICI!! ..only Harrys!! (BRUCE vs DIANNO = 100-0!!!)

  • THE BEST MAIDEN TUNE EVER!!!
