I posted before that I remember reading that the melody Madeline used for this scene was from "The Barber of Seville," but the tempo was much slower. It sounds like that may be the case but I don't know for certain.

I solved it. It's the "Dance of the Hours" from the opera La Gioconda, composed by Amilcare Ponchielli. Ironically, the piece has two very recognizable parts...it ends with the tune in this clip, but it begins with "Hello Mutha, Hello Fatha!"
