Defining Moment Part 2: Miami Project to Cure Paralysis

Im not a doctor, but can I throw out a suggestion? every scientific breakthrough comes from lots of trial and error: how about some applied research into electric-shock therapy to cure paralysis? whats the mechanics of paralysis? the nerve path is completely severed? or can you still have paralysis without a severing of the spinal nerve path? either way, perhaps electric shock therapy can create the re-generation necessary.

Nice emotional music and pictures but how bout some discussion about the science itself. Is this about embryonic stem cell research? I am totally for a cure but totally against ESCR. Hopefully the Miami Project will work on using adult stem cells. They may even prove to be more effective.
