  • Excellent

  • I'm more interested in why it was made. What purpose, what motivation?

It seems so abstract and far from normality, it's bound to be the fruit of creative brilliance.

  • @icancancantoo Luis Bunuel (the director) was probably the most famous surrealist in his day and he was a great believer in varying the social norms to question our way of life. Here he is asking why it is considered rude to talk about excretion while having dinner, and why we have dinner parties and eat communally but excrete privately. He swaps this to highlight the absurdity of social 'rules' and constraints in our society. It's a great film, very funny scenes like this permeate it :)

  • @Tedaus5 Thank you for clarifying it for me. (: My friend is gonna download it for me.

  • I'm terribly interested in what this is from and when it was made.

  • Le fantôme de la liberté (The Phantom of Liberty) - Luis Buñel. 1974

  • jajajjaja, es un capo buñuel

  • Fascinating film! Down with Liberty! cried the Spaniard against the French who had invaded his country in the name of liberty. Reminds me of Iraq today :(

  • I love this scene!
