Truth be told the prof is right, as so called “Religious leaders” are using the religion as tool to gain political advantage.

Fact religion should not be mixed with culture and culture should not be mixed with political views. The issue with Somalia’s is that it’s all mixed. Talking to average Somali Joe on the street will prove that point.

The Concept is not to critize the Quran. Quran is the word of God. Its perfect and good in every sense. Quran instructs us to do good and refrain from evild deeds. What the religious groups in Somali are currently doing is quite the opposite. They misinterprete knowingly or not knowing, to justify their blood-shedding campaign of fellow muslim Somalis. As we all know, they use the Islamic religion which the quran is the principal guidance, for their political ends. The prof is right.

I am really proud of the prof, I think that it's time for the Somali people to realize that talking will not get you anywhere. What the professor is saying is infact true. Religious warlords are using the Quran to justify their lust for power and complete control of the masses. I think something intresting is happening in Somali society and that is we are hitting a new phase. The new Somali battle will be between extremists(imported Islam from Saudi Arabia and Afghanistan) and moderates (Islam practiced the way of our forefathers).
