  • i love how he calls the one guy a stereotypical bastard, yet he assumes everyone in montana lives on a horse farm? lol?

  • great work guys

  • Just fyi the Cyclone and Typhoon were dropped by GM because the babies that bought and owned vets were complaining about getting their buts handed to them by a truck and an suv.

  • @zorny79 Makes me wonder what they'll say about the CTS-V and Camaro ZL1. I guess as long as they keep pumping out Vettes that trump them both, the Vette people (team or owners) won't care.

  • best episode of rt so far

  • You mean nissan puke.

  • if i had 50,000 bucks id buy a juke r in a heart beat. may look gay, but it wont matter because the only thing others would be seeing is the taillights.

  • @DRIFTINGIN808 so, what you are saying is... gay is cool if they are looking at your rear end?

  • I don't think you would need to go full on gtr territory. keep the look and give it 250-300hp, and offer leather. I think it would sell well. I wish that an awd scion with more was made or something like it. I don't see why a high performance juke wouldn't sell if they kept the price reasonable.

  • Blue sweater doesn't have a place in this discussion imo.

  • Guy on left, looks like a soprano

  • juke= fail, dont see this piece of shit in the next 3 years

  • Shut up JF

  • JF its you thats an idiot.

  • i honestly thing that the juke-r is bad ass. I mean, nissan took their flagship GTR engine and put it in a little crossover. It's also more stylish so i dont know how you can say that GMC is badass. I'm sure you cant take a mustang engine, a car that is no where close to a gtr, put it in the explorer and beat that little juke.

  • @suprafan246 i think you mean an escape, bc the explorer is waaaay bigger than a juke.

  • The guy in the blue really needs to keep his mouth shut he makes no sence at all and and hes too young to even know what hes talking about and his tast in cars sucks. Shit i bet he drives an olds alero

  • Outlander with turbo 3.0 upgraded to about 3.5 turbo with awd and 400 (say 350 stock) at the tires. Lift kit available off road racer.

  • The nerd in the blue shirt thinks the gmc is cooler thn the juke. Then when the 2 other guys reach a verdict he still goes mmmmm. What the f does he know about bad ass? Stupid pointless fool.

  • SHPSUV :RT

  • also the SS Silverdos, Ford Lightening, supercharged land rover

  • Nice show!!! keep on.... 8)

  • Thumbs up for GTRness

  • JF just likes to start shit its anooying as hell

  • awsome sleeper

  • just too tone the juke. silver on the top black on the bottom.

  • I'd buy a Juke-R

  • juke R

  • I love drive. dont change the hosts either guys

  • jf is a dick

  • jf is annoying

  • we need more vehicles like the juke-r.

  • sigh. With knowledge comes power. You want a fun amazing car, build it for 1/10 the cost. It will take a few years to learn everything, but when you do, you will have it, and nobody can take it away from you.

  • @walperstyle Walper.. have you done this already? If so do you have pictures or a video? Which car would you recommend to build? And how did you do it brother..? Thanks man..

  • @dalesalsa I don't know who you are. I have been spending the last 5 years building one project though. I just need a stand-alone ECU, fuel pump and wideband o2, and I should be done.

  • @walperstyle Of course you don't know who I am... I was just curious. On the other note.. can you put some pictures of the project..? That would be cool man. Later..

  • @walperstyle Oh.. and is it a SUV like they discuss on the video or is it a sport coupe...? Just asking and curious!

  • @dalesalsa my current project is a 500hp 4 cylinder. Looking to take on Porsche for under $30,000. I may not be able to compare to GT2 or GT3 Porsche's, but close. My next. My next project hopefully will be something along the lines of my own Ariel atom. First I need to prove to myself I can squeeze lots of power out of a small engine before I go onto a chassis that will kill me.

  • @walperstyle That is awesome... hope you make it.. you can get 500hp out of a 4 cylinder definitely. There were guys getting 550 from the Mitsubishit Evo.

But more than that you may be getting too much turbo lag.. :P but that is fucking awesome bro. Good Luck man.. take pictures of the finished product I would love to see it!!

  • @dalesalsa ka - t dot org , and some evo guys are making over 800 now, but thats running e85 for fuel. Burns colder.

  • Have you seen the Ford Transit with a Jaguar XJ220 chassis/engine .. ? Oh and... CR-V Type-R would soud nicer. No ? But nice video nonetheless :)

  • i want this car for the whole life

  • i like the Juke-R it looks different and pretty sinister in black with black wheels.

  • "You're both idiots" LOL

  • Guy I'm the blue is an absolute douche hater.

  • The juke for what it is and as small as it is.. i woudln't pay over 35,000 for it no matter what you put in it. Personally I don't think it's that ugly. I kinda like it. Sell that and make it customizeable (as in bunch of after market parts) I'd heavily consider. Not a fan of CVT in any form though. Gotta go stick and all wheel drive.

  • They should put the 370Z engine in the Juke. It would be cheaper and closer to production!!! Also a facelift to the front end.

  • you need a bi-directional mic on the table.

  • All the Juke hatred, wow. Ya know what? I think even the normal one looks great and refreshing, not ugly.

  • @Tygur Good Statement.

  • although i find the regular juke to be ridiculously ugly, i think i would the buy the juke r in a heart beat. i cant even imagine the kinda numbers that this thing would put up

  • A pickup that's sub 5.0 Seconds? Holden Maloo

  • 1.A Juke GTR would be much too expensive to make if every one has to be essentially hand built like a GTR engine.

2.I don't think there is a large enough market for it to be practical for Nissan. The Juke isn't the hottest seller and a Juke GTR looks like a somewhat dumpy car with a crazy body kit. If I saw one on the road and did not know what it was, even if it was fast I would think "ricer".

I just don't think it's cool enough to sell (though it would be an awesome thing to drive).

  • I think the guy with the 4 blue shirts is a moron. At least in this episode.

  • The drive team schould check the ford transit van with a jaguar xj 220 drivetrain

  • The guy in the blue shirt was talking nonsense, doesnt belong here in DRIVE...maybe cooking show suits him

  • @TheAizato if you were to watch more videos then just this one you would know he has alot of knowledge about cars and has appeared in plenty of other shows

  • Tiresome whinging. Little knowledge, high opinion. Big whoop.

  • @aeiouxs Much like 98% of "car fans" on the internet.

  • Please get your facts straight, THERE IS NO CHANCE OF NISSAN PRODUCING THIS, do some damn research!!! The Juke-R is a project by Nissan Europe to celebrate the Juke's strong sales, Nissan HQ never approved the Juke-R project. Another fact, the GTR's chief engineer has stated that the GTR drivetrain won't find it's way into any other vehicles.

That second camera angle was terrible, you should've left it out completely.

  • I'd get an X6M, the Juke looks repulsive!

  • How'd you guys forget the X5LM? V12, 600+hp, and it looked insane.

  • Mitsubishi did make the Evo IX Wagon. With all the performance on a more practical platform. I own one, and it's the best all around car on the planet! Period!

Not that I'm biased or anything.

  • A bunch of guys that dont know shit about the vehicles they are talking about. Let hear spec. comparisons, not joking around about what your opinion of the vehicle is. Ha ha funny rapor, thats great that you guys are joking around, I'm glad your having fun, but lets get down to the shit that really matters, dont waste my time

  • Great camaraderie guys! I appreciate it that you keep going at it and asking questions even though not everyone goes the same way on the topic. Keep it going strong.

  • Y U NO SILENCE IPHONE???

  • The two video cameras seem to have two very different light settings. And the cameras switch between lo-def and 720p feed for every different camera angle. Oops!

  • I would buy the Juke-R in a heartbeat if it was $50k infact im crossing my fingers they make it! My reasons for wanting on is pretty much on par with what Leo said.

  • Nice video or should I say a show. I love when people with some knowledge get together and talk about cars. I hope some more to come.

  • JF @ 12:35 LMAO.... come on Leo ....

  • what do you mean you denominational people

  • I think J.F. is the Conservative Car Enthusiast in the Discussion here.

  • I cant stand watching anything with JF Musial in it he is just a buzzkill!!

  • I like how this channel is going. Road Testament and tuned are amazing. Hopefully there will be enough shows for an episode of something everyday

  • If you're going to buy a $50,000 Juke-R why not just spend the extra money to get a GT-R? It's faster, handles better, and I guarantee that it would be more driver friendly than top heavy SUV. Plus it look more high class, sexy, and just plain normal! Now if you needed a Juke-R or a GT-R for something (can't imagine what you'd need one for) and only have $50,000 obviously there's only 1 choice. I like the Juke-R and the idea but the only way I'd buy it is if I'm rich and had already bought a Ch

  • love this show... awesome!

  • don't get me wrong though, i love these vehicles. i love that these companies have no other reason for doing stuff like this besides the fact that THEY CAN! it reminds us that there are still some lower level companies that are taking risks and throwing caustion to the wind. i love the Ram SRT-10, the Juke R and the Jeep SRT-8, i would drive one in a heartbeat. but i would think twice before drifting in one. all of this rant aside, i love these specialty high performance vehicles

  • i don't think that putting a supercar drivetrain into a truck or SUV is at all practical. thats not what they are designed for. sure a high performance SUV can be used to go fast and carry some people and cargo, but there are better ways to go about doing it. a truck dosn't need a V10 in it either. trucks aren't designed to go fast. they are very top heavy and are not at all aerodynamically efficient. they are used to pull and carry large loads and get work done.

  • Juke GT-R = no way in hell I'd buy one

    But, Maxima GT-R, yes!

Now the mind stirs... Titan GT-R? V-8 twin turbo AWD Titan. Something that would keep up with any truck division racing vehicle (or destroy it)... I'm game.

  • Nissan should GT-R-ify more of their cars like the Maxima to see what they get?

  • Go to east europe and see what the mob drives. Cars that can get through anywhere. They don't break down and are fast. Cars like G55, Touareg and Range Rover.

Then you have the compact suvs that are more rally type. Like the Subaru Forrester XT.

In my oppinion the X5/6 M, Jeep SRT8 and Cayenne are just very fast high sitting street cars. In that category you forgot the coolest build, BMW X5 Le Mans

  • @FalfaBob Very true X5 Le Mans by far is the coolest SUV/SAV.

  • juke-r is awesome

  • JUKE R would be awesome that gay dude can't handle the TRUTH

  • JF JF JF.... If he keeps acting like this UNSUB!

  • "discount GTR" hahahahah

  • GREAT SHOW. I really like the direction of this channel

2nd thought... I wasnt sure about the whole racing juke idea and I kinda liked it... then I watched the video and saw all the others and decided.. FUUCKKKK that. Raced out SUVs and trucks are only cool when some guy with 1 set of socket wrenches builds it in the shed behind his house.

  • was it just me or did the Jeep SRT8 have Australian number plates

  • Comment removed

  • The GT-R is already a "discounted" supercar, you don't need to discount it anymore. Ok, it's cool to go fast for not much money and yes, some SUV's are cool, but I don't think the combination you're thinking about (GT-R in a Juke's body) is going to work/happen, because I don't think it'll bring enough money into Nissans wallet. That's it. The Juke-R is just going to be the top-trim level with a bit more power than the others.

  • Id buy a Juke R, its bad ass as fuck!

  • juke gtr IS the new renault cleo V6 / golf V12. funny, pointless and just awsome. discoutned gtr? ok... but how about makeing it the ultimate sleeper? the pocket rocket of our times? the ultimate gti?

who would buy it? probably people with enough "f.u." money to do so just to make a statement. seriouslly, people buy mini coopers s, fiat 500s ss. it's odd, corkey and it performes.

  • JF Musial doesn't bring off any interesting points, and looks a little under-educated about this type of thing. Could have left him out of this one

  • grat show wonder why they left out bowler. they make a street verision of there wildcat which is bacially a modded go fast range rover

  • I am currently wheeling my GMC Typhoon Johnny Lightning die cast car back and forth on the desk while watching this. Yeah I've been wanting one of those crazy GMC severe weather trucks. :P

  • You guys kinda missed the point of the JukeR! Not only was a big motor stuffed into the JukeR but the entire chassis, brakes, suspension etc from a GTR where installed! Brilliant!

As I remember the Espace had the entire chassis from an F1 car under it as well as the F1 V10! Ditto for the Ford Transits!

Most of the vehicles you guys mentioned (American Trucks) had a big motor stuffed in and nothing else! Drag racers at best!

  • I don't understand why they think the Juke R would be so inexpensive. Why, with the same innards, in a smaller (therefore more difficult-to-manufacture package) would it be $20k-$30k less than a GTR? Surely the fancy carbon fiber chassis doesn't cost THAT much. And if the Juke R costs nearly as much as a GTR, why would anyone in their right mind buy one instead of the GTR?

  • I'm sure they'll have a watered-down version like a SV-R or SL-R in the near future.

  • Go back to FLD

  • Not sure why this isn't working, but it isn't. It's something to do with the fact that the three of them are having a conversation, and the viewer doesn't feel like he's a part of it. We aren't engaged at all. It just looks like you set up a camera in Spinelli's office and started rolling during a staff meeting.

  • Juke R Hell yes! I think its Awesome! Nice job guys keep up the good work.

  • I think the hosts and most of the commenters are missing the point slightly. All of the vehicles featured are showcases for their respective drivetrains, plain and simple. When manufacturers feel like wagging their dicks a bit, they plop their premier powerplant into their most inappropriate chassis, and it works. Fish out of water stories get press.

Sure the Juke is fugly, but I'd rather have ugly and fast than unoffensive and slow. Shit, I'd pay $50k for an Aztec if it had the right insides.

  • That was a great show and a great topic and hell yes I buy the juke R for $50,000.

  • First saw that Renault Espace in Gran Turismo 2. One of my favorite vehicles in that game! And that SuperVan is playable in Blur for any who car to drive it. lol

  • i love this show. to make it easy when are you getting back on itunes(devil)

  • Here's the fun part. Nissan's Japan HQ never gave the UK division clearance to do the Juke-R build.

  • Not to disagree with you guys But I think that it's a little more of a high-performance philosophy than anything; If you have the right performance engineering skills, then you can try anything.

  • LOL "there's pregnant" I'd def buy a juke R definitely! 50k cuz hey shoe horning that beast into that car omg yes

  • re: dodge truck SRT-10 - the engine in the viper was based on a big pickup truck engine in the first place, so really, that engine's back in its ancestral home

  • The front end of the Juke is ugly...but the rest isn't so bad...do some mild restyling to the front end and if I had 50k I would buy it if it had the GT-R mechanicals

  • they can put the 3.5 v6 in it awd and it well be fast and just make the in sides of the car look like the jukeR and just put the 3.5 and the they can price it around 40g and i well but if it comes out why not and i wont care what ppl well say bc i have a mazda 6 know and ppl talk crap about but when i m kicking there ass or right on the bummer they shut up so why not nissan needs to make this asap

  • leo is just awesome!

  • thanks, but I feel old because I am old enough to remember these. keep up the good work.

  • Drive a Juke, would pick up a Juke-R for 50-60k....The GTR at its price point to performance ratio is one reason why its so popular, "take out some exotics with a low price car, in comparison"...The Juke-R would be just that at its price point "Bracket"....taking on TT-RSs (60k+), Cayman RS (60K+), etc....it has a market I believe, but I'm not one who knows much...

  • please improve the audio! love the show and all, but you're all sounding pretty quiet

  • @decamerondix I agree they need way better mics, maybe lapel mics.

  • @sab0nes they do have lapels

  • I'd buy one, it's fucking mental man, and I love it. Although, I would prefer the 2012 GTR though. ;)

  • I feel the Juke-R is a go kart in relation to the gt-r. It would be a great competitor and give an almighty ass-kicking to the Mini

  • i dont get why some people are complaining about the audio so much

  • WE UNDERSTAND THAT YOU GUYS ARE JUST SETTING UP. I LOVED THE DISCUSSION BUT THE BLIP PART DO SUCK ESPECIALLY THE ONES IN FASTLANE DAILY THEY ARE ANNOYING AND LOUD FIND ANOTHER METHOD. GOOD LUCK WITH THE NEW SPACE

  • Mitsubishi may not have put a pick up truck on an Evo chassis, but they did put a mini van on it. The Evo IX MR wagon was only sold in japan and it was AWESOME!

  • @Wich13 That's not a minivan, it's a wagon. Still cool though. ;)

  • The guy in blue looks like he didn't get laid for ages

  • Do you have Facebook page?

  • you forgotthe F-150 lightning

  • Comment removed

  • Get an audio guy to teach you how to use microphones and dampen the wall echo.

Sounds awful as it is - I cannot concentrate on what you say!

  • not professional or organized enough, and cut out the swearing. c'mon guys.

  • The spec sheet said .. Who gives a shit !!! Go leo :-)

  • Great video. It would be great if there wasn't so much echo and the secondary camera was hd. Plus where is a podcast feed for this channel. Sorry I am old school that way.

  • Nice show guys, ugly suv + speed = rollover

  • lol at the ending

    "Are we done? Thank god."

    Nissan Joke.

I'm all for weird and different, but a performance SUV? Why do we even still make SUVs? Are we proud to be a nation of soccer moms and men who want to look like soccer moms?

  • No Alex Roy?

  • I love the show, but taking an already ugly car to make it sound interesting is not my cup of tea.

  • I really like this episode great work guys

  • seriously i would buy it if it didn't look so fucking ugly!!

  • @drive the juke-r is cool, however, that car won't sell if it ever made production, looks in my opinion are lacking big time.

  • It's ugly as fuck

  • I would get a Juke R. It is soo much cooler than a GTR.

  • Greetings from Guatemala, I was awaiting since it announced the opening of the channel, could you introduce new regulations for the Formula One World Championship 2012 and compared with the last championship, Greetings Cesar Tobar.

  • google pontiac aztek v8...

  • people who would buy a juke-r are the same kinda ppl that would buy a gremlin with a V8 stuffed in it

  • good show didnt like the whole zoom during the show... Nissan GTR in a juke sign me up...who cares what it looks like its what matters on the inside...lol

  • Haha i laughed :D, pretty cool guys!

  • Mike is blinking! Unlike in first video Drive did.

  • Juke-R is juke-R, GT-R is GT-R.

  • juke-r may b a gtr in an crossover, but NOTHING can compare to real thing. i wouldnt buy it. simply cuz if i wanted an gtr experience. id buy a gtr

  • You guys forgot the Raptor.

As for the Juke, no matter the price it would only work if they make the chassis able to rally right out of the box with just a tire change.

  • What about the Juke Nismo?

  • They should build it in limited numbers(like they have a choice), and sell it for $50,000, i think thats cheaper than the other performance trucks and it is a cheap way to get a GTR, and it might not actually be bad off road, with the right tires... it might even have a great future in rally..

  • Less talking heads staring at a tv, more cars moving with good quality sound and video.

  • Good show guys. Only addition(s) I would have made to the list is/are the '98 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.9 Limited and the Dodge Durango R/T 5.9. Same powerplant, both from Chrysler, and they were incredible at the time in the late 90's (Sub 6-second to 60mph, I believe, in a heavy SUV.)

  • The Juke-R is Nissan doing a Lancer EVO. A production version would have a modestly beefed up version of the Juke's available AWD system and more powerful version of the 1.6L making 240-280hp. Or they would drop the 3.7L from the 370Z (350hp) and go "WTH". Because of the "off the shelf" nature of the car, a production Juke-R might cost around $30K-$35K. With the Turbo-4, The car would then see action in WRC.

  • Get out of the room and go do some DRIVING

  • I like this concept great show, now stop recording the sound with your cell phone. To me it looks like you have all the elements for a hit show now get the studio right. If your going to go big go big.I am anxiously waiting for the evolution.

PS bring on Alex I'd love to see him and Leo spare.
