If marijuana leads to hard drug use, Then milk leads to alcohol abuse. That argument is bullshit and has been debunked thousands of times. I would love to be able to go to the store and purchase an ounce of some weed. Not having to worry about what kind of crap they put in it to get it over the boarder. I once bought a bag that smelled like diesel fuel. And another time like gasoline. I couldn't smoke it and wouldn't smoke it because that could be harmful. Legalize, SAVE LIVES!

Sorry, but MONEY and CORRUPTION keep drugs illegal in the USA. If they legalized tomorrow, all the payoffs from cartels and lobbyists would dry-up, and all of the DEA and Sheriff's Depts' jobs would be obsolete.
Watch "The First 48." Over 90% of the murders on this show are over dope. I've not seen one episode where a suspect murdered a person over a pack of cigarettes or a beer.

@MedicoreProductions It's because the people that sell marijuana also sell more harmful substances, that there is this bleed over, and blurring of the line in the public perception between the harmless substance cannabis and the harmful drugs like meth, cocaine, and heroin.

@MedicoreProductions no its not a gateway drug at all dude. many people try drinking before smoking, meaning they're gateway drug is alcohol, out of everyone i know who smokes weed not one of them has moved to harder drugs not one, the only other things we do are like acid, shroomz, and e.
Too bad we can't just get it legalized accross the country instead of one state at a time. Hell yes. Good to see someone taking it to the streets. That last guy can suck my balls. So if i smoke weed ill become a crack head then? Humm well ive bin drunk before but i probably started on water! Legalize and regulate all drugs if u wanna see less people gettin harmed from drugs. Maybe some day governments will realize that their waisting time and money!
Truse me people i used to have no hope whatsoever that one day i, hell we could live without fear for what we do.
Tell me if i'm crazy but i personally think that the worse our economy gets especially in some states like ca, the better the chances are of it being legal..or at least taxed so the states can make money off of it.
And think about this...if it was legal for people to grow, that opens up a whole new sector of jobs that before would have been illegal for people to do.
i still dont understand why the feet dragging . maybe the thinking is only the youths that want it legalized and this is not so . we are the sixties generation and how can we say no to legalization. lets get it on and over with ; this evil has gone on for far too long. too much money has been wasted persecuting nonviolent marijuana consumers while real crimes are being neglected. change the laws and allow for the taxing and research of this panacea. why was it made illegal in the first place?
When a bill like this comes into my state, I'm voting for it. It'll release thousands of prisons from our prisons, saving tax payer dollars, create a new industry from industrial hemp, using marijuana, etc. Will also bring in a crap load of money for each state that allows it. The pros out weigh the cons.
Hey old man at the end..guess what? Far more marriages have "gone down da tyuubes" because of the addictive and destructive LEGAL drug known as alcohell..sorry..alcohol than because of a little weed.
Guess what..before you accuse me of being just a stoner, I'm straight edge. I don't get high period. I don't smoke or drink, or smoke pot or anything, but I say LEGALIZE POT. Because it's STUPID and HYPOCRITICAL to practice what is essentially PROHIBITION on this but not worse drugs.
@Pilaf1984 all prohibition sucks it makes things worse for the user, and is the reason why meth and crack exsist. not only does the user have an addiction, but they get sent to jail for it? that doesn't help, we need to end the drug war and teach people not use hard drugs through knowledge.
"Why legalize something that they have been trying to stamp out for years and years and years"...well, you old bastard, its as simple as this. "They" are those who have a vested interest in keeping it illegal through the impact legalization would have on big tobacco, big alcohol, and big pharma sales. There is no reason that this God given substance should remain illegal. The only harm done by marijuana is not by use but rather by the laws enforced against it. What a shame! Legalize!!!!!!!!!!
that old guy at the end doesnt know what hes talking about... he's obviously still stuck in the past... this is 2010.. not 1937.. views have changed n so has our knowledge on marijuana.. i smoked in the past n doing so has never made me want harder drugs nor even consider it... i've never seen soo much support on the legalization of something n the gov't lag so far behind on taking initiative.. eventually it will happen.. the sooner the better
Oh, it's a gateway alright, a gateway to free thinking!
