Alders hair looks kind of like Volcaronas wings and Volcarona are not known to cast illusions.

He also has a similar pony-tailed hairstyle to N's.

And Alders name is probably derived from the alder moth.

Another possible reference to Volcarona.

I'm not bashing your theory ,I'm just pointing out that some trainers just look similar in some ways to their Pokemon.

It is an interesting idea though.

@OrbitZombie Well yes, and considering the fact that N sees Pokemon and humans as separately as he does and calling himself human, that theory is a huge longshot. You're right that the ponytail thing may be just to look like Zoroark, or maybe the designers didn't even notice. I played through the whole game before I saw the resemblance. It's just a thought I felt like sharing. It's possible, but not very probable.

The creator made it based off of New York City and wanted it to be mainly unity and harmony, hinting by the Unity Tower off of the coast of Castelia City and even N and Ghetsis's last name: Harmonia which sounds alot like Harmony.

And wether or not you like Harry Potter is an opionion, nothing we need to judge people on. It's you're choice, like it's my choice if I like the STL Blues or not.

Honestly those guidebooks have questionable translations in them sometimes - I have the diamond and pearl ones.
