  • This song doesn't need any lyrics. It's a powerful song all by itself.

  • Sounds like a Legend of Zelda soundtrack :p (that's really good by the way ;D )

  • I like the version without the violins better. I heard that version first and then this one. The violins seemed out of place, but it doesn't sound bad.

  • the best instrumental combination ever...

    i love this song

  • and sound quality is better than the "official" candyrat release on youtube 8)

i really have the impression that sometimes they cut it on purpose

  • Cant get enough of this music. Absolutely wonderful! Sort of gypsy-celtic cross influence - beautiful. Well done.

  • He might be breaking copyrights but this song is posted on antoines myspace homepage. so its either a case of opening it there or here lol

  • you acctually ARE breaking the copyrights, but i don't mind, now i can here this beautiful song.

  • lol its actually punishable by death... hes probably gonna be hanged

  • The violin is too loud. All i can hear from Antoine is a bassine.

But this is still amazing and i listen to it all the time.

  • well the violin is a bit over powering but i imagine thats how they ment for it to be. its a very powerful song.

  • actually its very common for violin to be more audible than the guitar when creating violin and guitar duos. this is only because the violin is limited to playing higher pitch noises. thus when we hear these higher pitch noises our mind tends to tune out the lower pitch noises.

another example of this is when 2 guitarist play the same note at the volume, but one plays the note on a higher octave, the higher octave appears to be louder.

musicians learn to differentiate noises regardless of octacve

  • but i do some what agree with others commenting.

it wouldnt hurt to lower the volume on the violin. especially when antoine is tapping harmonics.

    amazing song though!

  • or cuz the violin puts out more decibels than the guitar lol... fail

  • agree, the violin out takes antoine's guitar but i like the version a lot. Never thougt about a violin to to match this song, but the result is brutal. I could listen it all day.

  • Great Version of this song..just wigh I could hear the guitar more clearly. The violin seems to overtake the sound of the guitar. I think I got used to hearing Antoine playing this without the violin...

This is still awesome though. I love both versions.

  • while antoine is sick on guitar, who is the one on the fiddle?

  • Fiddle?? That's a violin! And I remember him saying it was one of his friends, he did not mention the name though, if I recall.

  • Yeah, it's one of his close childhood friends that he grabbed and got him to play for the recording.

  • fiddle is more earlier name of the violin(sorry if there're any mistakes i'm Ukrainian)

    ;-))))

  • Actually Fiddle is a Style of playing. :)

  • Well, yes, more common in scottish music,

But we do actually call the violin a fiddle here in scotland.

  • Antoine dufour is GREAT, but nobody touches Erik Mongrain imo..

  • Erik Mongrain isn't even close to Antoine's skill level. He's a great player, but certainly can't be placed above Antoine.

  • Don't quite see how you can say that That Erik is not even close, Some of his songs require sublime skill if ya want to play them. And although Antoine is immensely skilled, I think Erik's music is much better (not talkin' 'bout his lap tappin' stuff). Much more innovative and unique. Antoine is great but he wears the Don Ross influence on the outside! Needs to find his own colours

  • Everyone has their own personal favorite and opinion. To me Mograin plays alot like Andy Mckee thats why I prefer Antoine more aswell as don ross, but don´t argue who can´t touch who etc... I believe they are all immensly skilled players and evenly matched >.<

  • This is probably the most feeling i've ever heard in a peice of music before...

  • it reminds me the al di meola - stanley clarke - jean luc ponty acoustic album named "the rite of string". If you liked this fantastic rendition of spiritual groove then you'll probably love the3 album mentioned above.

  • Haha yeah! i have the only link to this vid :D lol.. oboyy thts a pretty close comparison 2 how i felt 2 buddy. Lol i think tingly or goosebumpy are the words but nuts probly fits it just as well bro haha

  • I dont know the english words or how to say this, but my skin where going all nuts :P

  • hahaha.

i give you credit for trying to speak our twisted language. half the people here can't even speak it.

i doubt I could speak your language at all

  • At least i expressed myself and im sure you understood what i meant so no probs :D

  • Incredible

  • indeed it is

  • Absolutely Mindblowing, the violin and the guitar just WOW. thanks so much for posting this bro!! God i'm gonna say goodbye to all my earned money buying this guys stuff!
