I've never been able to stand Jennifer Hale's voice acting in Mass Effect. FemShep scares me. Of course, being a male, I can only really immerse myself in a game playing as a male. I can utterly understand a female preferring the female character. Not only that, but it would seem a bit weird if a female preferred playing the male when a strong female character is available. But kudos to Bioware to making a game without canon so we don't have silly arguments of who the real Shepard is.

It´s just the way it should be. FemShep delivers Fanservice just by having this voice.

After all, it´s also a 3rd-person-game. therefore I don´t need a male character to immerse myself, as you put it.

It´s not equality or something similar stupid. It´s just one thing: Female characters are more attractive, in body and voice. To male and female consumers.

@ediskrad327 Yeah, it was a bit weird that they used the exact same animations for both genders when FemHawke and MaleHawke got independent animations.

That being said, whilst the walking animation is crappy, they're probably so similar because Shep walks with a limp in ME2. If you play ME1, Shep's walking is less unnatural-looking.

It's known as the gorilla run on BSN and ManShep players have complained about it as well (I haven't played either game as ManShep yet (I'm only on my first playthrough of ME2) so I can't judge)

I agree on all accounts. While I respect Meer as an actor, Hale did a much more amazing job with adding character and emotion to the lines.  Hale is spectacular as a Renegade while Meer did better as a Paragon.

I do like both Voice Actors, in different ways. That's why I played both. Mark Meer does the humorous bits the best... while Jennifer Hale's Voice Acting is well rounded in all areas. I like Hale's acting a little more because you can tell in her voice that she REALLY gets into her character. Mark, as good as he is, too, got stale on a few lines between the games. I didn't find that with Jennifer.
