  • Martha Raye -- the only woman Green Beret. Saved lives under fire and put wounded on choppers before she got out.

  • Nice Fender acoustic guitar on the opening shot by the guy in shadows.

    Classic harmonies.

  • I just saw these sods singing this song on an episode of Batman. Catwoman somehow stole their voices. To cut a long story short, they turned out to be bigger than Jesus and they got their voices back. They then had to go back to England and pay income tax.

A good couple of episodes. 9.4 out of 10.

  • I'd hit Martha Raye

  • My sister took me to their concert in Annapolis...she "kidnapped me" -- having me put a date on the calendar and make myself available...I did. We got to the Ram's Head and she pointed to the poster...I was so excited...these guys were such a part of my life. It's a memory I'll always cherish. This song is awesome!

  • love the 1966 formal musical fashion - skinny pants, beatle boots, groovy round-cut jackets -- i would go clubbing like that anyttime ! song has a nice & slightly trippy ending, too, with the indian-inspired minor chords. Only 45 years ago, & truly great music is already extinct....

  • This is better than any song of 2011!!

  • I named my first born Chad.

  • i was a growing 5 yr kid - my mom 'n eldest sis kip playing ds whole album Distant Shores..all songs are just marvelously amazing..@1:11-1:15, jeremey chants "dancing shadows from yesterday" instead of "sounds of tomorrow from ysterday" -- chad made a casual glance on jeremy---artists as they are, their imperfections make them real perfect. we love their music, words 'n d melody-simply fantastic, rejuvenating, always a great feeling to hear their songs...thankz CJ!

  • @classymania Yeah it probably used to be "dancing shadows from yesterday" then changed it to "sounds of tomorrow from yesterday" then got used to singing it that way. Kind of nice since you know they can change it whenever they like, it's there song :)

  • So simple, straightforward and perfect.. Not too complicated like the songs today.. They look like they are just playing in the garage (with the exemptions of the suit) all they need are themselves and their guitars to make a perfect song.

  • Notice how they smile at each other when one misses a line near the beginning (sounds of tomorrow from yesterday) and just move on without missing a beat.

    Very cool professionals.

  • @lilalstef One of the great things about the singers from this era is the way they relate to each other. You can see this in Peter and Gordon's Let it be me. They liked what they were doing and liked doing it together.

  • Is it just me or do Chad and Jeremey have a huge similarity to Peter and Gordan.

  • @TheFabFour14 they do and are often confused with them. Chad and Jeremy still perform together and are still great.

  • @TheFabFour14 The biggest difference between the duos was these guys had talent. The other guys had Sir Paul songs.

  • It was my biggest honor and greatest pleasure to have had performed with Chad & Jeremy in their Manila Concerts a couple of yeas ago with my band "Area 1". They were so nice and friendly! "Distant Shores" is still my favorite song.

Although Area 1 is a Beatle tribute band, it plays songs it had performed with our idols, like chad & Jeremy, Cascades, Peter & Gordon. All in Manila! Check out my videos under "John Lesaca" "Girl" McCartney Medley" "While my guitar". Hope you like them!

    CHEERS!

  • The very first album I ever owned. I still have it. Love these guys

  • i love this song., remembering the days of the 60's.....

  • really smooth

  • Really nice, smooth song. I like it, no matter if they moved their BLOODY lips!

They had some wonderful melodies and mega hits!

  • now this is awesome.... :)

  • thanks for preserving this classic distant shore. I sing this with my guitar as i enjoy it only over the radio.not much of live music before and this the first time i saw them singing it in action. if this was in 1966 and i am now 56, then it was 43 years ago. that was when i was 13. Oh..time has slipped away so fast. The song remains the same..Philippines

  • Very rare to see Chad Stuart play bass on TV.

  • Thank you Youtube for bringing old Chad and Jeremy films back to life on video! I enjoyed Chad and Jeremy in the sixties. I bought their records. Now I can enjoy them all over again on youube. Wonderful!

    Reed McGuire

  • Nice that they played live; most acts on this show lip-sunk.

  • is the past tense lip sunk or lip sang

  • In some cases it lip stunk.

  • what about lip sank

  • that too. In England they say "mimed".

  • Oh my!!! reminiscing the past....they came here in the Philippines in the 60s and guested at our Student Canteen noontime show.Hosts ex-senator Eddie Ilarde and the late Bobby Ledesma joked (because the due were late due to traffic jam) that the duo just arrived and went on the air with wigs and guitars mimicking the great Chad and Jeremy.

  • What a beautiful song, they don't make them like this anymore.

  • Is it just me or do they both look like Muppets?

  • These guys were way better on Batman :)

  • Jeremy Clyde was in Ashes to Ashes last night looking very different!

  • A stunningly beautiful song. One of my faves. I agree it should have been a monster hit for them. Beautifully produced also. Don't know what happened. GREAT !!

  • I don't see them nor P&G as Lennon-McCartney copies. FWIW, I had/have all the LPs of all three.

  • well, it doesn't have a very fast tempo which doesn't usually bode well for "hits."

  • Anyone notice how The Clientele are influenced by them, at least vocally?

  • Wow I never thought of that. I love them both...in fact, my two favorite concerts of 2007 were The Clientele at Maxwell's in Hoboken and Chad & Jeremy somewhere in Rhode Island. That latest Clientele album is so gorgeous.

  • I was at that Clientele show!!

  • I love Chad and Jeremy! Besides them being extremely talented, they are adorable!

  • @KittyHampshire Ditto

  • Perfect Theme Song for A May-December Affair.

  • Very mellow. Love this music. Thanks for the video.

  • Beautiful song! I love the musical style of this group. -SGrl1

  • This was a late song for these two, but definitly one of their best. I am surprised that they did not get more play with this and higher chart rating. It was a time for this type of quiet song. Thanks for the video.

  • My favorite song ever, thank you!!!

  • This was also used in the Film "Say Hello To Yesterday". WIth Jean Simmons and Leonard Whiting.

    Thanks for the video.

  • WOW,I CANT BELIEVE THIS! I KEPT ON WAITING FOR THIS VIDEO. FINALLY, ITS HERE.tHANK YOU SO MUCH

  • Fantastic clip with C & J and Martha Raye introducing! Priceless! Look at the colour... LOL brings back memories of Old colour tv sets. from the early 60s.. Thank you so much for sharing
