Actually, youre kind of right ... If you catch the ball within the circle, you can take a shot with both of your feet grounded ... But if you want a closer shot, you can take 1 step, but if you do this, your grounded foot you took the step with cant touch the ground again
Haha, if you get a pass right next to the hoop, are about 2 meters tall and can jump another meter vertically off the ground from a standing position then sure :-)

They should do i tri-nation competition between nz, aus and england! NZ and OZ are in a different league to the other countries - The ANZ competitions which consist of 12 teams from NZ and OZ are starting soon - We need to get more countries involved to spice up the sport!

It is a very demanding sport which requires skill and determination, so maybe men should try playing Netball to see if they can do it.
Not all women have a choice into the teams that they can play for. A women turning up for a full contact Hockey team will often get laughed off, as one of my friends did.

If it was as equal as you said, than men would play against women without mixed teams. But they dont because it will never be equal. That is not to say that womens sports are not high level or entertaining.
But women dont even watch womens sports enough for these athletes to make money.

Look at Football (if your american i mean soccer) in the Premier league in the UK the player can get paid £140,000 a week where as the womens teams get nothing like that, the women hold down 2 jobs to play for a team.

hmm..at which part of the clips? as in the timing of the clips? maybe it would be clearer if u can help point it out. ok..from what i observe is that she leaped and took the ball and landed on her first foot. then she took a big second step/leap (lifting up her first foot) and before her first foot landed again, she threw the ball. she make that move very fast. taking a step is not really an offense in netball.

Netball is more complex then it looks; its just unfortunate that assholes like the above cant get rid of their preconceptions! dont hate if you cant even do it yourself. "Basketball is a version of netball." Absolute rubbish. Basketball came first. Netball was created for girls in dresses who couldn't dribble or jump. That's why they still wear gay little skirts. No backboard or dribble, so what? Real basketball players would still smoke you at your own game.

what niceties. clearly someone that hasn't played netball. having played netball and basketball, i have to say netball is my favourite game ever. you actually have to work as a team and implement some serious skills. and 'real hoops'?! um, we manage to get the ball in a smaller hoop without needing a backboard! i like basketball, but i love netball!

you do realise that Basketball is a version of Netball but for less talented people because, 1 ) you run with the ball 2) you have a backboard 3) you dont even really need a team you can play by yourself, no real teamwork is needed and it is much less forfilling.
Netball will always rule over basketball!!!!!

Yh it can be about teamwork but you look at a lot of the players out there in the leagues, self promoting egotistic men who are selfish with the ball waiting for their next over paid pay check to clear. And why are mens sports the highest level in the world.

@Guardian898 And also, I like womens sports too, but I think its is a slap in the face of the female gender when women willingly play differentiated sports. Or easier versions of male sports. Softball, netball, No check Hockey, etc. Or moving the foul like closer in basketball. Sure it is done to make it easier since they have different body makeup.
But it also "de-legitimizes" womens sports and makes it so they are not popular.

@Guardian898 And Look at womens tennis, so popular because for the most part they do not change the lines, the balls, the rackets. They still have to run around the same as men and make the same shots and stuff and they play during the same tournaments.

@SXcore points well made, but im not hiding that fact that i dont like Basketball. And to call netball an easier version just shows that you have either never played it or not at a high level. It is a very demanding sport which requires skill and determination, so maybe men should try playing Netball to see if they can do it.
Not all women have a choice into the teams that they can play for. A women turning up for a full contact Hockey team will often get laughed off, as one of my friends did.

@Guardian898 and trust me men could play net ball if they wanted to. It is not a knock against women to say that men are more skillful and stronger at a majority of sports. It is just biology. If it was as equal as you said, than men would play against women without mixed teams. But they dont because it will never be equal. That is not to say that womens sports are not high level or entertaining.
But women dont even watch womens sports enough for these athletes to make money.

@SXcore And also the amount of segregation between men and womens sports is what influences its popularity not the rules by which they play. Look at Football (if your american i mean soccer) in the Premier league in the UK the player can get paid £140,000 a week where as the womens teams get nothing like that, the women hold down 2 jobs to play for a team.
Womens sports are consistently seen and portrayed as weaker and less skillful, when in actual fact they are equally as skillful.

@Guardian898 thats again biology's fault and womens fault too. There are not as many women trying to play sports let alone play them professionally. And they dont play at the same levels as men except for the ATP where they even have mixed doubles matches. Female tennis players make a ton of money.
Women (the straight ones at least) get pregnant and start families and such so pro sports careers are not sought by them as much.

But also do you not think that a reason why women do not always actively seek out a job as an athlete, as it is rarely seen as a job? more of a hobby. many women are not paid anything like the amount of money men are, if they were more women would join team sports, as they would not have to hold down 2 jobs

It's actually been reclassified as "low-contact", and isn't actually a non-contact sport anymore.
As a guy, I have to say this game is alot of fun to play.
Also shouldn't it be "world #1: Australia" NOT New-Zealand!

hmm..at which part of the clips? as in the timing of the clips? maybe it would be clearer if u can help point it out. ok..from what i observe is that she leaped and took the ball and landed on her first foot. then she took a big second step/leap (lifting up her first foot) and before her first foot landed again, she threw the ball. she make that move very fast. taking a step is not really an offense in netball.
