@kingman450 Uhm, not entirely right.You unlock Julius Mode when you get this ending, where you play as Julius Belmont and (optionally) Yoko Belnades and Alucard (A Belmont, a Belnades and Alucard...sounds familiar.) and the final boss is Soma-Dracula (And quite a sweet battle too)

I'm a life long fan of castlevania all the way back to the first with Simon Belmont, and I was just looking at the cutscene from curse of darkness where Zead (Death) tells Hector that only a devil forge master can be the vessel for Lord Dracula, so is Soma a devil forge master? I think not, I feel conflicted towards the story line of the game and I don't want to be as I love the series.

Anyone want to comment or agree/disagree with me?

i have no idea, i am still on the final boss on the soma mode, on my first game, that's what i love on castlevania, on NDS most of the games are short and they dont worth the money, but on castlevania after you complete the game you can still play it more, with more characters and etc.

and on the julius mode, i think if you complete it, on the second time you play J mode, you can use alucard

I sort of wish the talisman actually did something. If you don't equip the talisman, Aricado remains unseen. If you do equip it, he comes in and explains that the Mina that died was a fake. So, really, the talisman did absolutely nothing except for dictate whether Aricado comes or not. Oh well, that's nit picking.

I sort of enjoy this ending (paired with the Julius Mode) better than the best ending to be honest. >.<

Hm...how that I see this again, I just realized something. Both "Dark Lords" became that way because the one they loved the most got killed, by another human (or humans) being heartless jerks, alebit, Soma had insurance making sure he wouldn't go nuts (the talisman) and if he did, someone could permanently stop him (Julius).

@monkeygirl677 If you saved the game before seeing this ending, you could just reload the save and use Mina's talisman (note that Arikado even hints about the talisman being the key to avoid this bad ending).

By using the talisman, you're allowed to continue the game and unlock the final dungeon (just like in Symphony of the Night). By clearing it and defeating the remaining bosses, you get the good ending.

But it's important to see this bad ending too, as it will unlock JULIUS MODE.

Lol... you unlock Julius mode after beating the game with the best ending and not only can you be Julius, you can be Yoko, and yes, Arikado, for who he truly is. This scenario IS what would happen if Soma became the dark lord, as you would see if you played though Julius mode, and best of all, it's already included in this game!

What I don't understand is how Julius and Arikado know when Soma turns into Dracula since it is not explained. Anyway, I think you should be able to fight them!

He wasn't the true Dark Lord and they probably could have killed him right when they saw him again without much difficulty. Just how reliable is Arikado?

I thought of doing that before he said it. That's why I think he shouldn't have told you since it ruins the puzzle. Perhaps Konami thought that figuring out which 3 souls were required to get the good ending was too hard in Aria of Sorrow. I actually thought the hints were just symbolic references to make the game look better at first.

Also, you get Mina's talisman very earlier in the game. There's a chance the player wouldn't even remember he had it.

Which "first bad ending" are you talking about? Do you mean that it's hard to get past this bad ending and continue the game? If you are talking about Aria of Sorrow then yes I think that was pretty hard to figure out. If you are talking about Dawn of Sorrow then I disagree. It was obvious to me even without Arikado's "hint". Just because you are playing a game doesn't mean you shouldn't expect to not have to remember anything or not figure out any puzzles, but they aint hard.

Oh yeah that one was a little tricky and no obvious hints were given. At first I though it was like Aria of Sorrow where you needed a certain soul combination since Dario was kind of like the equivalent of Graham only in this game. But you just gotta explore more of the castle and once you have the Paranoia soul (if you didn't already) it should be obvious. If you could figure that out on your own then you should know when to put on that talisman.

@xXxMartin96xXx Yea, it just seemed to be put a little too bluntly when he told you what you didn't do. And yes I am a big (probably not the biggest fan by a long shot) alucard fan. Isn't it strange that soma is one of three (might be wrong but) characters beside Simon and Richter who have had games specifically for them. Soma has also been on only portable systems (instead for Harmony of despair but that wasn't a character story) while simon has only been on consoles and Richters had both.

i think that battle will not be so tough at all for Alucard. Alucard in his optimum status and level is the ultimate character in Castlevania Symphony of the Night. Even with juts Crissaegrim and Duplicator, Soma would have zero chance of defeating this god-like Alucard. Remember how Alucard utilizes well the Poisonous Mist form and the Soul Steal.

I didn't notice until now that Celia reminds me of Claudia from Silent Hill 3. They're both cult weirdos trying to revive/bring to earth some powerful being that their respective cults are centered around. (ex: Soma= Darklord/Dracula Heather=Birthing God)

Also, they share similar methods both in summoning thousands of monsters and inspiring the main character to hate in order to draw out their desired trait. Claudia killed Heather's father in order to fill her with the hate needed to birth God.

Get the Paranoia soul. With it you will be able to enter the Mirror, destroy the FIre Demon powering up Dimitrii, and continue the game.

To get to Paranoia, go to the Demon Guest after getting these 3 souls.

1. Axe Armor

2. Killer Clown

3. Ukoback

I don't rember exactly where Paranoia is, but you can always look that up on gamefaqs
