  • fuckin pathetic

  • Owww fuck and i bought an Saab 900 why didnt i take the Mercedes :D

  • Shocking compared to the old 99/900's, Saab take some advice, Leave GM play with their own Vauxhall floorpans for christ sake! Well thats me put off buying a modern one then! And Ive "liked" Saabs for 30yrs!

  • sucks to be the dummy

  • not good

  • This one is very unSaab (bad Euro Ncap ratings), but that isn't very strange considering it's built on an Opel...

  • @swedishiron ohh shot up Saab is better! volvo sucks!

  • i thought saabs are sofe

  • @KLX1410 They Are this model 900 is the ONLY! saab that recieved a bad saftey rating the older 900's/9000's did well, and the Newer 9-5's and 9-3's did very well also, 5stars and best pick's from IIHS.

  • @dariusmidi : What makes you think that?

  • @dariusmidi It can be a 900 SE wich looks exactly the same as a early 9-3.

  • The rear of this 900 is completely different from the 9-3 introduced in 1998. Also, I think the 900 received 1.5 stars while the 9-3 received 4 stars. The cars look similar but the 9-3 is well ahead in safety as well as other areas compared to the 900.

  • @kewlfinn i think it was 2.5 stats. What year was this again?

  • The last generation 900 of the video was produced 1993-1998. The first generation 9-3 until 2002.

  • @kewlfinn Thank god for that the 9-3 is better,i had a lot of 99s and the old 900,but this film really schoks me.

Today i got an 9-3 2002.hope youre right when you say its much better than this one

  • @dariusmidi Sorry, chuckles. It's a "New Generation" 900. I can tell from the shape of the front bumper, no CHMSL on the top of the rear window, and the shape of the front head restraints.

The NG900 came out (in North America) for the 1994 model year; the 9-3 appeared in 1999, but was just a mildly refreshened NG900.

The current 9-3 came to North America for the 2003 model year.

  • @dariusmidi

No. Look at the front bumper. Its the 900

  • Oh GM :(

  • This crash test looks normal for early '90 nothing surprising, or schocking.

  • @raphael2000 it's from 1994, that's mid 90's :P

  • This is a 1994 model. The develoment of this car dates back to the early 90's. This EuroNcap crash test is performed with actual safety standards which are not the same than back in the 90's. So it was perceived as a safe care in 1994, just because the crash test and safety requirements were different! So, you must consider that before rating and judging a car.

Check other manufacturers crash tests for cars built at the same period. Pretty much the same result.

    Nothing shocking.

  • Why don't it look safe? it did what it was ment to do.

You don't want the car too rigid, all the energy would be transfered to the occupants.

  • The 900 actually isn't that safe a car. The A pillar bends too much and door crumples. I'm not sure how safe the car was for it's time though, thats another story, could someone let me know. The 9000 was a lot safer and it was from similar times.

  • I have crashtest from both cars. The test-results at 55km/h saab 900/9000:

A pillar moves back 10/22 cm,

    steering wheel back 7/14 cm,

    break-pedal back 10/20 cm.

So the Saab 900 is better than the 9000.

You can imagine how the saab 9000 looks like at the 64 km/h crash test....

  • thats what people dont get these things crumple like a can in an accident but they protect the occupant well

  • why does people say, that saab is a safe car? o0

it doesn't look that this saab is very safe...O_O

  • And it's when GM took over Saab. The older version of the 900 was better.

  • wow .... and I drive one of those

  • its like an egg shell

  • How to give saab a slow lingering death by using castoff 80's GM platforms...

I'll Stick to my real saab, safer than an ovlov...

  • 80's cavalier in a saab suit....Not a proper SAAB
