This is proof that a cool, fast, economical car can be made. Something like this would be a great commuter/second/hobby car. Have an SUV for the wife and something like this for the hubby that wants a sports car or a motorcycle and has a long daily commute.
Sweet, kind of looks like an Ariel Atom. I was thinking of doing something similar to this but instead taking two Harley V-twins and turning them into a V-4.
Just needs a more powerful v twin. Bikes with v twins can make over 250hp supercharged, I've even seen some turbo. I think the design is perfect, just double the power.
This very neat vehicle you guys have created. I few weeks ago a I saw a video of man who used a twin Harley engine to create a Morgan Sports Car which only runs on 3 wheels. This and the morgan are really neat to see!! Thanks!
While this is really cool... A sport bike motor could easily put out at least another 40-50 horsepower and get better gas mileage. I dunno, different strokes for different folks I guess. I would have gone rear engine and Hayabusa power personally... Then again that's what I "would do," you actually put your money where your mouth is and did it. Good job.
@Kornball426 Got to admit the sound of a Harley in it is pretty cool. Wish I had the money to tinker and build cool stuff like this. Wish I had the ability mainly.
I have always considered Harley vtwin motors as well as other vtwins to be like small block chevy motors in their performance and sound and attitude they bring to the road, but putting a vtwin into a lightweight 4 wheeled chassis? Simply awesome. Where do I sign up for one with a 5/8 scale 32 ford roadster body????
Hi Cofer-engineering-robotics here in Tunnel Hill GA. Runs as well as my 80cube Roadking. What kinda transaxle is that in the rear? NEAT TOY.. Makes me want to finish the CCR Tbucket frame here. I think I like it better than a Trex. Neat build.
To the poster of the video, I'd recommend you check out dpcars [dot] net. Guy named Dennis Palatov, with similar scratch-built-car ideas, but a different goal.
The motor is a 120" JIMS Harley Davidson with balance shafts. I tried a 124 S&S but they shake so bad I couldn't drive the car. Took a loss on the S&S just to get rid of it. I can't Imagine how bad the 145 must shake. 125 foot pounds of torque from the JIMS works great in an 1100# car! Not as fast as a sport bike motor but that's not the point.
(excuse my english) nice very nice.....i would lite spent some time on the road with that boogie...mmmm...i must dreaming...but at one time in a future...
i dont belive in a miracles....i must earn some money...
Excellent use of a very proven engine. This should market quite easily and could prove to be one of the means to break the back of over priced gasoline.
Light weight construction combined with excellent engineering makes for a nice little two seater.
So American! Create a modern chassis and stick an archaic pushrod sh!t-pump motor in it!! What a waste! get a real engine that makes over a hundred horesepower! Harley Davidson 1200cc = 55Hp WOOOOOOOOOOOOO....
It doesn't LOOK like 120Hp the way he's driving it! Looks downright leisurely! If you want to see a motorcycle engined car that really accelerates, look at a Radical 3. I have no love of the archaic. Pushrod OHV tech was obsolete before WW2. Lovely chassis though. I have explored the website and I'm impressed with the design and workmanship.
Look at the fun car website. I built a G S X R 1100 Suzuki powered car 20 years ago! I also have a Hyabusa version of the Twin Tech (mid engine style) on the drawing board. You have to keep doing something different! The Harley bunch doesn't mind spending a little money though. Just look at the number of $50,000 + custom bike out there. Not to many rice rockets in that category.
I know what everyone's thinking ,,,,Hayabusa!!! With all that work in frame, brakes, and suspension, a "turbo" Busa would be the hot ticket!! Still a very cool car! Harleys just have that put,,put,, tractor sound, and of course there's that reliability thing!!
awesome i love it when people just dont throw a busa in it and call it quits nice work

If I could keep my foot out of it, about 35 mpg, but it's too much fun to not to use all 120 horses so I get about 25.

Is this Street leal and if so how did you register it with the DMV?
lukzter 1 year ago
@lukzter - It's registered as an assembled vehicle. Most states have a category for special construction vehicles, even California.

Cool - high revving, sweet sound, and good gas mileage.
How much would it costs, approx, to swap out my engine from my Miata to a motorcycle engine?
lawrencelugar7777 2 years ago
I don't recommend you do this conversion. The Miata is to heavy for a bike engine.
TwintechV 2 years ago
Probably in excess of $20K.
ethanmonat 2 years ago
you should ditch the miata and get a suzuki cappuchino. You can then add a Hayabusa engine. theres a guy on youtube with one.
edm418 2 years ago
dose it go in reverse? if so how did you get it to do that. and is this available comercially
choopdewoot 2 years ago
this is actually twintech's modern remake of the old
Morgan 3 Wheel design.
type in "Morgan 3 wheel" to see the similarity in design.
unclesonnyonutube 2 years ago
The Morgan was definitely an inspiration. But an extra wheel and an extra 80hp hasn't hurt the concept!
