@Pondo1221 They were protesting tuition increases at their school from 5,000 to the current 12,000 and the projected increase to 22,000. Think of the students who make less than 20,000 a year. Those increases are the difference between working at Mcdonalds and becoming a manager or lawyer for some students. You sound ignorant, in this situation.

Beating and raping a dog is inhumane, telling people they are about to be removed for obstructing the law and for breaking it isn't. @MrManboobie It doesn't matter that it was "just" pepper spray. My point was that we are given these examples to compare ourselves to when we are young children. But when we take the lessons that we learn from a young age - nonviolence is the best way to cause change, we have a right to peaceful protest, etc., and use them, we're beaten down.
Also, pepper spray can have many long term effects on your body. So can the nightsticks that many other students were beaten with.

EXCESSIVE FORCE MY ASS. They were asked to leave and they refused. Should the cops just let them sit there? I know they didnt let me sit in my car when I was asked to step out and I refused. They didnt spray me, but they put me out of my car (face first on the asphalt) in about 2 seconds.s And through it all I was being just as peaceful as these kids are and I only occupied my car. @roDinski584 This was the end of a week long protest with several points (some of which were logical) that included debates peaceful and detailed discussions with the faculty along with the tents. Do you really judge them on their chants?
Of course the protester's main grievance was the police brutality last week in Berkeley (including the beating of a 70 year old poet laureate with batons). So the police made their point for them.
