  • Esta maravilloso!!!

  • another great vid! how do you do your lazer effects? they look cool.

  • Thanks, The laser effects is just a beam plug-in for Adobe After Effects.

  • First off thanks for making this and putting in all the time. I really like you attention to detail. Have you ever thought about mixing live action characters with your stop motion. Kind of like the GI Joe's you used in you gundam vid except with real people and combine it. I would be intreded in getting involved in a project like that.

  • Holy crap! Do you have any more like these uploaded?

  • Thanks,yeah,I have a few. Gollion/Voltron,Gatchaman/G-Force,and a Gundam.I kind of quite making these.

Fighting the NWO has taking priority.

  • i can watch this over and over again and doesn't get old!

this is a masterpiece and i try to make my own macross animations... you should check my videos i hope you enjoy them.... my style is more stopmotion action than editing but im getting on it...

  • sick

  • Just perfect

    The efects, the camera

    All are perfect

    Wel done!!!!

    :)

  • Hey,thanks stef300000. I wanted to add some other shots like SDF-1 Macross firing main gun/destroying a Zentrati ship,Various Cockpit scenes and more fast paced action.

  • This is great! I LOVE the camera moves. Someone should introduce you to that plamoo guy.

Although the paper cutouts give me this really weird Monty Python vibe. I keep expecting a giant hedgehog to pop up and bellow "DIMMESDALE!"

  • Thanks, but I don't understand what you mean by Paper cutouts? There was no paper cutouts involved in this. Just photo manipulation and stop motion done with digital media.

Are you referring to Captain Gloval talking as being Monty Python like? That's not what I was going for but that's okay.I was going for more a New Battlestar Galactica camera style/ meets Hobby Japan Magazine meets Macross Vibe. If you know what I mean.

  • this is fuking gooood!!!! whyyyy did it close???

  • Thank You. My former roommate & I worked on this. It was Our collection combined and the studio we had lived in had given us room to create stuff like sets and props on a large scale. He had a kid & got married.(it happens)..I moved across the country and now live in a small apartment. I could continue to make more but my Computer & Software that was used to create these are still on the East coast. I hate not being able to do more now but it would be very expensive to have it all shipped here.

  • Amazing, very good job. It´s a shame that your studio y closed.

    Fantastic job!!!

  • すげーー、笑える!

    よく、作ったよねぇ~~。。。

Gracias otra vez, Gorgo

  • Whoa, did you make that? Long live Macross, indeed. That was amazing.

  • Hello again! I started production on a digi-stop motion short 3 months ago. Your film inspired me to keep pushing to finish the job. Check out my trailer when you get the chance. I've been a fan of Macross forever. Once Ai Oboete Imasu Ka came out on video, I was forever hooked. Keep up the great work.

  • It's like a cross between Star Wars and Power Rangers! Good job!

  • Thanks,I think. Star Wars Okay.... But Power Rangers? Did you ever watch Macross aka Robotech to the U.S.? It's nothing like Power Rangers !

You really ought to see Super Sentai. (what Power Rangers was ripped from) It's really alot better than the dumb American one.

  • Has anyone seen Macross Frontier episode 7 ? Most action yet !

This new series is great !! New Battle Fortress Macross Quarter!

  • See...now thats what I call inspiring.

  • Thank you !

  • the stuff dreams are made of lol XD

  • great job gorgo!!!I like to much your macross motion.eres un cabron!!!me gusto un chingo...

  • Si we, rulea... =)

  • great job gorgo!!!i like your macross motion.eres un cabron!!!

  • I love this & all the mecha toys u used, hehe... Btw, have u seen the new Revoltech Regult? Cheap (like 20 dls or so), Beautiful & Excelent... (I gotta have one!!!)

  • thanks, no I haven't seen the Revoltech Regult. You can bet I'll check it out.

  • this is tv quality! really awesome! dude you rule! great job! keep going!

  • now that is beautiful stop motion! way better than robot chicken

  • 1 man working? Awesome!

  • hey not bad

  • if this is ur work Gorgo .. your VERY intelligent ! GREAT work indeed

  • amazing Gorgo

  • Awesome work Gorgo, Keep up the great work!!!!

  • Holy shit, this is good stuff, being a macross fan myself. Keep of the good work dude.

  • Awesome work dude Bravo !

  • beautiful man...

im a gundam fan, saw other video and wanted to see what other animations you've done since then. This is great. Now I feel I need to see Macross lol

Your Gundam Fan Project got me started on my own little gundam animation.

    Great job again

  • Thank you..! I have had more footage to add but that got held up due to a major move across the country. Sorry about the delayed reply...I'm glad to see other people doing animation with their miniatures. Keep it up !!

  • More!!!

    More I say!

  • Unfortunately,my computer where I'm at now doesn't have the same FX plug-ins and I can't find them anywhere. So,it's held me up in adding scenes to this short until I get to my master computer.

  • awesome, hard work, dude! \\m//

  • is that particle illusions you're using?

  • Sorry bout my delayed reply to this question...

Yes,Particle Playground and trapcode particulars. Unfortunately,my computer where I'm at now doesn't have the same FX plug-ins and I can't find them anywhere. So,it's held me up in adding to scenes to this short.

  • now Transformers in in the books and Macross is ready for the big screen XD at last my dreams came true a live macross movie XD

  • Yeah, but sadly,it's not gonna be what it should be.You and I both know that. They're gonna change major things about it and call it Robotech. They're doing the same thing to Voltron.I read Instead of being on another planet (Arus/Altea) it's taking place on earth.

I'll bet they'll even call Protoculture an energy again and make major design changes.

    No F-14 tomcats.

  • If it's a Robotech movie (which I believe it is) Protoculture is gonna be an energy source. Macross, I think, is still not mainstream enough to have a live action movie here.

  • Oh. And good work on the video :)

  • All hail protoculture!

  • The audience wants more macross/robotech ^^

  • I'd like to make that happen but...I just moved to California...most of my sets and things are back in Pittsburgh. I'll try to make more happen when I can. Thanks for your support !!

  • Ya,!! Ya! BRAVO!! Genius!

  • Excellent work man!

  • this is really awesome man. my favorite part is at 2:20. I love that transition to the bottom of max's valkyrie then the camera turning while focusing on the cockpit

  • quite frankly the most impressive independent stop motion/ multi-meida piece on macross i have ever seen. ever ! hope that you find time to either finish it or create more stunning stop motion projects

  • Thank you. Right now,my studio is in limbo. I began a Hikaru Ichicho scene from DYRL with the sunken city ruins...the protoculture civilization city they raised.

I'm suppoed to get a flight suit Hikaru soon so I can film cockpit scenes.

I'll start up again soon... Later, Gorgo

  • i guess it was good but personally for this kinda stuff i would rather whatch robot chicken but the idea of a movie is very interesting i would love to see a movie about robotech the best show ever.

  • After TRANSFORMERS, everything is possible!!!!

  • wow. hope you get the chance to make some money out of this to finance further works. dont let em get u down. respect. (must have taken months to complete in this stage ... watch my vids to see some other crazy time consuming works)

  • hes tlaking about global and claudia are paperl ooking

  • Well, yeah...they're photos of cosplayers... If there were figures made of them...

I would've used them instead... I'm animating this alone... so,please understand that it's not easy fabricating and customizing everyone...I wish I had the time, crew and money to do it. Thanks for explaining what that meant.

I was really wanting to make it kinda look live actionish...not really like Monty Python meets Macross. : )

  • holy sheet the ppl are paper!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Huh? ppl are paper ? kindly translate that one for me.

  • très sympa ! :)

  • nice work!

  • excellent: keep em coming

  • i love macross

  • Hi I just saw you Go Lion vid before but gee this one here is amazing. Well if you no doubt guessed Macross is my other love of the eighties. Your attention to detail is exquisite as is your eye for scale and lord knows it was these reasons I loved the show as a kid and even more now. God you should show this to Shoji Kawamori and tell him how there could be a market for a live action Macross in the vein of the new Battlestar Gallactica. If you were at the helm I'd watch it every week.

  • niiice...i like the after effects

  • awsome video did you make the SDF and the Zentradi (is that spelled right?) ships or are they still pictures? Either way it was a sweet video! And i am a big fan of Robotech...you captured the feel of the show. nice!

  • Thanks, Yeah, the SDF-1 Macross is an old resin kit by Yellow Submarine.

The Zentradi ships are re-issue models from Arii. The Meltrandi (the females) are kitbash custom models. oh,the Regult battle pod was a lucky find at a convention (in a box of junked models...for a dollar, and no damage at all) gotta love those kind of finds !

  • OMFG!!!! I love it great work your a very talented filmmaker you captured to feel of the the anime

  • Wow. That is really amazing!

  • Great Job!!! This is great. Keep up the good work. You have a strong future in this. I'll be looking forward to seeing your works in Hollywood.

  • Thank you very much. I hope so. I want this sorta thing to be my job.

I work at a indoor sprout farm. Hard labor...but it gives me time to do these and learn the programs, build the sets, and do the animation & editing.... Hollywood...that would be great....Japan...even better !

  • holy sh1t thats good

  • Very good nice video I like too much!!! but it need more... more to see jeje

  • Was that Frank Zappa saving the future?!!! Fun video. Long live Macross.

  • great video congratulations for this it s very great

super vraiment bien fait comme montage bonne continuation

  • Thank you... : )

  • Beautiful animation, but I am offended that "Takatoku" doesn't get any credit.

  • Yeah....I forgot Hasagawa too.... oops I'll try to remember next time...

I can't please everyone....remember, I'm by myself making this stuff...

  • Under the extrordinary consequences, my complaint is withdrawn. I just think Takatoku is synonymous with Macross.

  • Very creative. This looks like it took along time to create. Awesome!

  • Oh yeah it took alot of time...5 years in development..

This cut of it though.... took about a couple of months

    Thanks....glad it's enjoyed... !!

  • OMG!! I LOVE THIS that is so awesome and constructive too. wow it inspires me and im not even doing this sorta thing. sound sampling sounds great too

I give kudos. not only is it awesome but really fun to watch. thanks for doing this

  • Thank you...I'm still adding stuff to it ! I just got a bunch of stuff (Hikaru)to use in more scenes...

I'm doing a shot with him in those city ruins in Macross DYRL....gonna have to custom a Misa Hayase for the scene. Thanks again....

  • BTW, Zentrati with no voice reverb? Thats really messed up. Did they think nobody would notice all the changes? Lol.

  • Yeah ADV is pretty bad. They messed up the sound on their release of Robotech as well. I was especially bothered by the removal that awesome groaning metal type noise the valks make when they move or transform and changing the sound of the valks gunpod firing. Which version of Macross did you use for this? There is a set with subs and the original sound but the remastered video right?

  • Darn. Valkyrie Exchange was a great site. I bought a lot of my stuff there, he had good prices and service. I have heard there are all sorts of troubles with the copyrights and all that for DYRL and that is why it is not easily available in the west.

  • I'm worried that ADV will get ahold of it.

The new translation to Macross the serieswas alright but I hated the altering of the traditional sound FX.

and Max's Voice was disappointing...Zentrati has no Reverb to their voice...I was so mad.

  • BTW, do you know where to get a good copy of DYRL in the US? All I can find are questionable bootlegs on eBay lol.

  • I had gotten my copy from the Valkyrie Exchange which

unfortunatly no longer exists. : (

  • "They sent me some things" Ahh I think I get you lol. Well I guess I've just been burned too many times by Toynami so I'm wary. However, I do think I think I will pick up a Hikaru figure as he looks awesome. Breti and Exador would be a great. I have the old school six inch figures of them but the sculpts suck. I would also like to see a Regult with an armored, I have a sweet spot for Regult's and Destroids.

  • Lol, yeah that is a cool idea.

  • It would be pretty close in size to the 1/48 scale Valks...to do some Valk to Zentran combat. Thought it'd be cool for a bunch of shots to make

someone up as a DYRL zentrati in armor and have him snatch up Hikaru.

But I don't have good enough cameras to do live action anyway.

  • I would also love to see some enemy mecha. Besides the two Raus' I have old Matchbox and Playmates Regults and a Glaug plus three of the Nousjadeul-Ger suits and also all the destroids. It would be awesome to see those in 1/100 or a similar size with a much more detailed sculpt. If they made an armored Zentraedi the size of the Hikaru figure I would buy it in a second lol.

  • They sould do a Breti and Exador two pack. They both should have the light up blinky chest. Exador sould have connecting/posible tenical things...whatever they were. It'll be cool if you could squeeze a button to make their heads pulsate too. But my wish is a Regult with a to scale pilot and pilot to scale with Valkyrie. 1/100 seems like a good

    idea for scale on that.

  • Toynami has really shoddy quality control. I had a few of their valks and the things were made out of cheap plastic and half the time were broken right out of the box. If you were lucky the thing would stand on its own and not flop over. Got rid of all those and went Yamato 1/48 and 1/60 all the way. The Hikaru seems cool, except the price seems a bit steep. I've heard mixed reactions about the 1/100s and I dont really like the head sculpts or the puffy skull symbols.

  • Hope they put out a Zentrati Warrior so I can do some up close and personal scenes...like Max ripping the pilot out of his pod and blasting his head off...like in the movie. It would be sweet if someone just made some more Zentrati Mecha in general. Like the Nousjadeul Ger movie version.

  • Awesome. I love how you did Milia's face and also the tracer AA effect from the Macross. The Rau is one of my favorites. I got two of 'em. I want to repaint one as a green tv version, I've seen some nice examples on Macross world. I'm not too thrilled with anything made by Toynami though I would love some scale destroids, pods, etc.

  • Thanks,I'm shoot tward a Battlestar meets Macross feel to it.In focus/out of focus. Yeah,Macross World is great for it's galleries and information on the subject. Though,What's wrong with Toynami? I got that Ichicho from them..wow it's great. They plan to make a Max,Roy...and next year perhaps the figure wearing the flight suit. : D

  • Although some of the effects are cheesy, this does look considerably better than the original DYRL animation -- and that was created by an actual animation studio taking thousands of man-hours. The stop-motion animation of the toys looked particularly good. I love the sets which were obviously built for this project.

  • Work is about to begin on some new scenes useing Toynamis new products:the 1/100 scale Valkyrie transformable fighter and a 1/6 scale Hikaru Ichicho

(Rick Hunter figure)DYRL version. Get'em while they last.

  • I loved it! Thanks! :D

  • The Blue one is real tuff to get. I bought the Max that goes inside the Blue Q-rau. It was sold seperatly.

I wanted to do a scene showing the wedding in DYRL

style.I hear there is a story board in one of those old art books where they were planning to do just that in the movie...But it never happened.

  • neat.

I passed on the Q-rau myself, but everytime I see it, it looks better to me.. Might have to see if anyone I know is stocking any.

    Good work regardless.

  • The way u, juss everything. lol. Great Job!

  • thank you

  • That is awesome. I love the regults! Even in 2006 the VF-1A brownies get no love lol. Great job!

  • cool video!
